Ooh, yeah, I saw the final match between the French and the Italians. That wasn't very pleasant. I was a bit happy when Italy won.

Which English person does like the French? I'm sure some of them are great...but the ones I've met have fell right into that 'arrogant, irritating' stereotype...but when it comes to footy, I don't care what nationality players are Henry is one of the greatest footballers in the world at the moment, when he gets over his whole 'I'm too tired to play' thing at Arsenal..and Zidane was incredible.

One of my best mates has lived in France for acouple of years, Hisd wife is French and I still dont like most of them. I get annoyed that ppl say us and the French are teh oldest allies. THAT IS A LIE! We have been at each others throats more often than I can think of lol.

We were friendly in WW1. Random thought, but I am currently supposed to be doing my essay on it...I should really get on with that...

Think about how many times historically that we were fighting tho lol and ww1 balances out. And besides, we ahd to save the French from the Germans in WW2 anyway, coz they made defences that coulndt cover all roads. Stupid Huh?

Funny that you say that. That's a very British stereotype, but for you lot its more like "pinpricks and stuck-up"
Of course, I don't think so...but that's how you guys are categorized...no doubt us Americans are worse though.

We have trodden on a few toes we have in our history. Mostly French toes. I might count up French Victories in wars we have had between us and then see whos won th emost.

^^Well, Ms.Gamgee, most of Europe are under the impression Americans are greedy fat pigs, though seeing as 127 million American adults are obese and we are the proud founders of McDonald's, it's pretty easy where they got that conclusion from. If you go a little more to the east, say the Middle East, the ultra-fanatics there think we are infidel crusaders. But we all know stereotypes are usually false.
But just in case, I'm Asian so....
^Well, let's see...I know the English won the Battle of Crecy and Agincourt in the Hundred Years' War. I also remember Richard I of England was theo only king left in the Third Crusade after the French king ran off. Oh, and then there was the battle of Trafalgar. I know the French won the battle of Orleans but that's all I can think of.

^What, the idea of an American being a greedy fat pig? Hmm, this is going to be a nice project - counting up English victories over the French.

Whoa, this thread has gotten into hostile territory.
I personally having nothing against the French. The people, the culture. They are no worse than others.
I have nothing against the Americans although certain things are left to be desired. I.e Bush, ficticious wars, oil etc. But that's not the average Americans fault, just the people that lead them and control things.
Anyway, any nice topics going?
