I have no problem with the French... but weren't the French mad at the US about entering the Iraq war? Just wondering.
I dont normally like stereotypes, highschool stereotypes are fine but Americans being "fat-pigs" is kind of borderline... Most people watch their weight (like I am trying to do).
French vs. English battles. Hmm.. intresting topic! I really dont know about that one.
Random Topic: Pro-war or Anti-war in WW1 and WW2
(I only ask that because most of it took place on European land)

Well, I have nothing against the French (or the Americans - I'm just anti-Bush, but that's the wrong place for this ) , but I get sick of people going like: "Oh ha ha the English lost the battle of Orleans/Avignon/whateverelse! Poor you!" *is puzzled* What the heck does that have to do with me??
Any opinions on this?

That just reminded me of a woman I met when I was in England last year. She was a bit a sloshed and told me that the Battle of New Orleans was the reason for the American 4th of July and it was at the end of the hundred years war. LOL!
I don't know why people would say something like that to you Valenta Aillard. That sounds a bit stupid. But then again Americans have been known to be overly patriotic and say really dumb things .

I hate the whole bringing up victories/defeats in wars thing...I just think that anyone who would use defeat in a conflict to ridicule a country obviously doesn't realise the impact that war has on the entire world. And I find it really disrespectful to soldiers that died, to have their sacrifice used in a petty argument between ignorant people....
Sorry if that sounded a bit rantish Lots of my family were in WW2. But I think every country has a pre-set kind of stereotype. It's only some annoying people that take a stereotype seriously.
Wootles! I'm an Ent!

Some of my family served in WW2 and I respect their sacrifice. Call me ignorant if you wish, or call me annoying if it it suits you, but I am proud of most of the things my country has done, (with some exceptions.) I dislike the attitudes that the French have towards England ( mostly the government (I apologise the starting the off topic thing and breaking the no gov rule, but I feel that it should be said and I will accept the consequences of my actions should any mod berate me for this) I am proud to say that my country has fought to preserve her freedom, and the Freedom of her citizens and allies and to make her great. I am not one to rub someones face in it for something that they, frankly they have not much to do with personnaly. I was originally going to do that for Historical purposes, and maybe have a think about it. Rant over. There you go. My rant for the week finished.
Oh and that woman must have been properly sloshed Bannana republic, that is completely inaacurate (as far as I know.) Has anyone finished their Christmas shopping yet????

Yeah, she was quite off the mark. Yet it was quite entertaining for me because I'm a history major .

^Interesting....very interesting... ^^My Christmas shopping? There's hardly any need for me to do any Christmas shopping...which is just perfect because then I have the guilt of not buying my family anything hanging over me. It's not like I don't want to get them anything; it's just they don't need anything (or so they say...). But anyways, I bought my little brother a CD and I might get a movie for my cousins.

Pssh....Christmas shopping isn't Christmas shopping unless done at 11 pm on Christmas Ever
I'm getting clothes this year...for the first time ever. And as I've already worn some of them, the surprise is lessened somewhat. But I'm still insisting they are wrapped up.

It's funny how the tradition of Christmas presents varies. I get presents from my British relatives, but my German relatives don't really seem to hold that tradition.
Is anyone of you going to a Christmas party? That's what I miss in Germany - proper British Christmas Entertainment

No, but I did like the Advent Children movie. Vincent seemed so cool. As for Christmas parties, I'm going to my uncle's restaurant's party tomorrow. It's for employees but technically, I'm an employee because I help out occasionally.

I'm going to the cinema on Christmas Eve, then going back to my friends house for a Par-Tay. This Par-Tay will last until Christmas Day, then I can stagger back to my house, collapse asleep, wake up in London at my Nan's house and open some presents! WOO!
