LOl, I'm just the AU Ball encyclopedia! :teehee:

Maybe (if Tin doesn't mind that is) we could put our heads together and using the info of what's best for eveyone, we could come up with a AU Ball plans list, that will hopefully suit you guys and gals. Then we'll post it here and (maybe) draw up a list of who will be here for what. :-)

You see I'm indifferent, as I'm not going anywhere this Christmas, but I want others to get the most they can from this festive period. :hug:

Meep! Now what's this I'm getting volunteered for?

I'm clueless when it comes to the events, which is where you come in JF. You are indeed an AU Ball encyclopedia! :P Then we shall put our great minds together [with tins blessings] and compile a list of the dates and events. Sound okay?

Maybe you should PM me or something. Note: I'm terrible at organising things like this. ;)

Well, I think that most of us will be busy with family and such the few days following and preceding Christmas, like the 23-27. Not that there will be no activity then, but for various reasons, some people won't be able to attend huge activities then. A big activity - like Secret Santas and the Masquerade - should be done when everyone is readily avaliable.

I actually meant Larael, that Tin and I could compile the list, or at least I think I meant that...*reads through post*..hmm..I don't actually know who I meant!! :lol:..But now that you mention it, your involvement would be super!! :-) Tin, probably has enough on her plate, and all this pish posh about you not being able to organise! ;) I'm sure you will be a great help.

I'll Pm you about it tomorrow and hopefully by then Tin will have had her say.

Thank you both for your help! I really am glad this has gotten to be so big on members who want to attend this time, but r/t life is crazy for me this weekend and it wasn't anticipated...so I'll be around when I can if you need me for anything, but I'll be away all of Saturday to a family gathering. ^ It's Ok. We understand. We may need you just a little bit....;)

Well Larael and I have just had our first discussion and I think some interesting suggestions have arisen, I'll be able to tell you more about the conclusions, once Larael has received my PM.

Something we have pretty much decided on, is that there probably should be 2 Masquerade balls - one at the beginning of the week (20th or 21st) and one at the end (26th or 27th). Everyone I have spoken to, has really liked the idea, but most have said they will be unable to attend as it is late in the week. So, having one at either end of the festivities, means that no-one should miss out.

The revealing of the Masquerders will most likely be on the last day - and if people keep up the deception no-one will figure out who they were either time. :-)

Another thing that has been decided, is that there should be a list of days, so we know when those who are attending the ball will be here for. I think if people know what days their friends will be on, it may help to get more people joining in. Also, possibly a list of people who will joining in the Masquerade Ball may be useful. We shall be using these PM's to also remind people that the AU ball is still going ahead, and these threads do exist. ;)

So, any queries so far anyone? :-)

:jump: squee! That is genius. Having two masquerade balls solves everything! I will be here on the 20th or 21st but not the other two dates...and I'm sure there are people with a vice versa situation.

I had no idea this Masquerade ball was being planned....this will be announced more as it is set in stone, right? I don't think many peopel know this is going on, let alone a possibility...

But it sounds really cool, from what I've read and comprehended. :)

Glad you like the idea people.

This weekend we will (hopefully) PM'ing everyone who is joining the ball, and give them details of the various activities that are planned. So, they themselves can spread the word.

Will there be possibly a Masquerade thread started? Just for various randomness related to all the name and sig changing that will be going on?

*applauds* Wow, you guys are very organized. I think the double Masquerade is a good idea as well, and a Masquerade thread would be lots of fun. That way too, people could talk easily and specifically with the Masqueraders, so they could get a better idea of who they are.

Thanks for the stickie Tin. :D The ball dates will be the 21st and 26th. :-)


For the Tree Decoration contest me and Larael have been thinking and we have an idea for it.

People take photographs of their actual Christmas tree and post pictures (in light and darkness) and then the best trees are chosen. Also I was thinking (I'll have to see what Larael says!) that as it is a tree decoration contest, maybe people could also photograph their 5 five favourite tree decorations.

The start date for that would be the first day (20th), to give people time to enter. Voting/juding starts on 25th and awards given out on 27th.

What does everyone else think? :-)
