My other friend did that too!!!! i couldn't believe my ears!!!!!!! now i can't believe my eyes! i never thought anyone else would ever do that!!!! that makes me >ghasp< !!!!! *falls over and lands in a chair*

You should so do that. Just poke her every time she dozes off. Or bribe her and tell her there's a few good lookers in it. eg. Legolas, Aragorn, Boromer. etc.

yes i shall!!! but the lookers thing prolly won't work because she said that the people in LotR are ugly....i feel very sorry for her....

when I was reading LotR for the first time (and everyone's seen the movies in our class.. well maybe two exeptions) and I was so excited and sad at the same time when I was in the part where Frodo 'dies' when Shelob stung him... and then I went to cafeteria and sat down with a few people and said "guess what guys?! I've reached the chapter where Sam thinks Frodo dies!" and they gave me this "whatcha talkin' 'bout, dude?" or "have you lost your marbles?" - looks  it was disheartening, really. *sighs*
'... people don't know what they lose...' _________________  I revisited AU on Jan 14th after an almost 10-year break! The nostalgia..!

YES EXACTLY. I rememember when I read the books after FOTR came and told them about people like Tom Bombadil and they looked at me like I had lost my mind.

Yes i told my friend that i had read The Hobbit and that i loved it. she gave me really funny looks and didn't say anything. i felt all weird then. but she doesn't know what she's missing. Shame it is....what a loss...

The books are just as beautifl as the films, maybe even more so.
I'll be honest, I didn't know about LOTR until the films came out,but the books are so beautiful, how can people just dismiss them?

on dec 19 and 20 i watched FotR. But on the 20th, me and my friends were having a christmas party and we watched FotR and we watched it all the way through the end of the credits and saw the names of all the people in the fan club thing. does anyone know anyone on that list? becuase that would be cool. Sounds like a fun party.
Even if I did know someone on the fan club credits I probably wouldn't be able to see them, there are thouands of names!
To be honest I never watch the fan club credits only the production ones. I tryed to once and listen to the music but it got so long and tiersome that I just gave up.
