Ok, I hate to do this to you all, but I'm going to have to. You are now going to witness something very, very rare - a cranky JF.
Peeps, I can't answer your questions anymore. Seriously I can't. I appreciate them, and they are valid questions, but I have answered so many, and I thought everything had been smoothed out that all these questions were not needed. Ok, I lied, I'll still try and help you.
In all honesty I don't know how you are going to post at the ball Ok? But here's some of my suggestions, youdon't have to use them.
People going with fictional characters should be fine (you could even make your ficcie change his/her name!), so you just say "Bob walked into the room" instead of George. People with AU partners, will obviously let the other in on it, but you could just post as you would have normally. It seems to me there's too much "we can't do this, we can't do that, I don't want this, I don't want that". It's suppose to be FUN!. We've had this thread up for days, and tonight's the night, and it still isn't sorted!
I'm going to go through it again. It is very simple.
For 2 days (or even 1), you change your name and sig. On these days (21st & 26th) you have a chance to be different. After the clock srikes midnight on the 22nd & 27th, you can be good ol' George again.
If you can refrain from posting in the RP's then please do, but if you don't want to, it's not a problem. Most people won't know who you are, and even if they do know, they're only guessing.
Don't reveal your identity to anyone, until the revealing day (will be decided). If anyone asks you who you are just say "not telling". This way you keep your identity a secret.
If you want to cheat, then do so. You can find out as many members as you want, but (hopefully) they won't say either *yay* or *nay* so, you won't spoil it for other people.
To help people getting confused maybe we could put in our sigs "Masquerade Member" so at least people will know, that you won't be who you are for long.
Now, I'm really sorry if I've annoyed anyone with my attitude, but it's been a long and tiring day. Hope this get's things sorted out.
*is tired*

Kyral waltzed in, the snow still melting on her cloak. Wow, I'm the first one here, it seems, she thought, peeling her cloak off. Her eyes and nose were covered by an elegant dark blue, with silvery-white vines criss-crossing across it.

*Has never in all her 10 months at AU seen JF cranky. This must be serious.*
My poor little JF. x lots.
*Gives JF at hot water bottle along with FM's things*
Well done for pulling rank and bringing order, as always.
*Pats on the head* Well done.

Melian made her entrance to the masquerade, dress swishing splendidly. She gave her cloak to the doorman and hurried into the well lit, beautifully decorated room. "Oh how divine" She whispered to herself as she looked around.

Isildur entered into the masquerade since everyone's face covered by a mask as he is. It is hard to find the people he knew before so he hanged around for some time

Kyral stood near the edge of the small group for a few minutes, then spotted her fiance. Even behind his mask she could recognize his sparkling black eyes and shaggy black hair.
"C-" She began, then stopped herself.
"Der." He reminded, hugging Kyral.
Kyral nodded. "Kyral. For today."
"well, then, Kyral - may I have the honor of escorting you into the ballroom where we may dance?"
"Of course!"

A tall, dark figure appears on the edge of the dancefloor. He long dark cloak obscuring anything that might give away his figure, and the deep hood hiding his face from view.
"Well, this is rather good isn't it! And it is decorated wonderfully."
