Melian laughed to herself as Hermione scooted past Loth Rose and asked for the dance.

He stood back and watched the goings on all across the hall. It was fantastic that so many people could get on so well, especially when they had no idea who each other were. Or they weren't supposed to anyway.

He let her lead to the dancefloor even though he whisked Hermoine. Now they were seeing the masked faces. Isildur waited for the music to play as he tried to understand her true identity.

"Well, it takes away any preconceptions, so you interact more with people you otherwise may not. but it does make it harder to find out who your close friends are. In general I'd say yes, it is easier." He smiled.
"But in most cases, we get on well anyway."

He nodded. "It's also rather intriguing, because you are never quite sure who you are talking to. Or dancing with. Gives things a little edge I think". He grinned. Not very often that he thought people did not have a clue who he was.
