Merrin, well aware of the dragon behind her, looked at Garthag intently for a moment before replying. "The Meiltha..." she repeated slowly. "They need me if they are to get that Crystal. And unless I'm very much mistaken, so do you." She paused again, brow furrowed in concentration. "But I do not need your help - you need mine. I do not need help preventing the Meiltha from reaching the Crystal. All I need to do is stay out of their clutches. But you will not get it unless I assist you. So what am I to gain from it?"

Even as she spoke her mind raced dizzyingly. She recalled Sage's words - Find your dragon. Stop the Meiltha from obtaining the Cloud Crystal. And guard this - the key - with your life.

Nothing there seemed to expressly warn against this. But the druid had not told her to get the Crystal, only to keep the Meiltha from obtaining it.

"I do not need your protection," she added, eyes flicking up to regard him. "As soon as I find my dragon I will have an ample source of that."

The voice of Kalma hissed behind her, Garthag quietly smirked as Kalma took the turn to speak for them and perhaps could prove far more persuasive.

"Two against one? How do you believe you can contend with them, if you are outnumbered? Without our aid your future does not look too bright and not even your dragon shall be enough to tip the scale to your favour, not to mention..."

Kalma said with a low and deep voice before lowering his head slightly, closer to Merrin.

"Turn our offer down and there shall be three against you instead of two when this conflict reaches it`s high point"

"Shall we tip the odds slightly." Above them two dragons and a woman hovered. Semri laughed as they landed next to Meleth and slid to the ground.

( so we will fianlly end up, with Garthag + Dragon, Evlyn + Dragon, Semri + Dragon and Demon as Meiltha.
As Renagade: Kendreth (who Evlyn is in love with) and Merrin + Dragon.
so the odds are constantly changeing...ok i like this plan...but not all at once.
At the moment we have 3 Meiltha and dragons, and two Renagades and Dragons then)

Merrin forgot Garthag and Kalma. She forgot everything - Wyvern was gazing at her with his brilliant green eyes and nothing else mattered.

"Oh, oh, oh...I missed you," she sobbed, arms wrapped choke-tight about his silver neck. The dragon nosed her happily.

Slowly, the girl let go her grip and turned to Garthag. "Three against one? Well, now it's two. We won't be needing you."

"We certianly won't" Semri looked at him with dislike. Anyone who threated a Renagade threated her. He was therefore her enemy. She smiled, however and made the greeting gesture mockingly. "Semri, Renagade, and this is Rano." The white dragon looked at his counterpart with bared teeth.

[actually... uh... I was kind of leaning towards Kendath going for Merrin too but he can't exactly ignore Evlyn either... hah this is hilarious... let's all form a love triangle around my character shall we]

You owe him nothing, Demon growled for the second time that night.

And Merrin? Absently whetting his falchion, Kendath leaned against his dragon's warm flank.

No, I don't think they do at that. He stood, sheathed his falchion, and eyed the still sleeping Evlyn. I need to have a talk with Merrin.

Demon read him like a book. He waxed as furious as his rider had ever seen him - and it was not a pretty sight. What did you say? If you betray me, Kendath, I swear...

He climbed on his dragon's back. Take me to her.

Garthag sighed and shook his head quietly, Kalma stared at the other dragons with cold eyes and simply hmphed at them as Garthag climbed on his back. Garthag gazed at them before Kalma rose into the sky.

"You have made the fate of the world that much worse"

He said with a steady tone as he inside cursed the stupidity of the renegades and the timing of these newcomers, this was not what they had planned yet it might not stop them from taking the crystals. Kalma spread it`s white wings and got air beneath them, starting to ascend to the skies. Soon the two were speeding away to find the meiltha.
