I did expect Dr. Doom to be back --- the ending of the first movie was too much. So Surfer is like a Mystique figure like in X-Men 3?

That scene was so good. The ship heading to Latveria, I got such a kick out of that.
I dunno if I'd compare him to Mystique, as she was scorned into what she did. So she's still very ambiguous. Surfer will become an outright hero, or he should if they do the story correctly.

Aye, you can never be certain how completely accurate the movies will be, based on the comics. I mean, they pretty much stay true, but it's more about capturing the spirit of the comics than getting the story exactly the same (which I'm fine with). I'm betting Surfer will still come out a hero, though.

He better or Tim Story best go into hiding
I'm pretty much good with changes to the comic book movies as I tend to look at them as alternative universe stories. I found it easier that way lol

Aye, that's what I do, especially with Spiderman. As long as they get in my favorite villains in approximately the right places, I'm happy.

Ah, yeah I'm like that with Spider-Man as well. Look at the new one, Eddie Brock was not some average built normal guy, nor was he dating Gwen Stacy. But I am actually pleased Topher got the role. He's going to beBrock which is far more important to me.
The one I have the most trouble with is X-Men. I'll have my brief moments of then I'll go back to feeling okay about the changes.

Yup. Like I said, as long as they keep the general spirit of the comics in there, I'm happy. The first FF did that very well, I think, so I pretty much trust them to do the same here.

A lot of die hard FF comic book fans really don't like the first movie.
But I personally loved it and thought it stayed as true to the comic as they possibly could, and gave me a renewed love for FF.
I was very skeptical about Jessica Alba playing Sue, but she completely and utterly won me over. Ioan Gruffud was brilliant as Reed, Chris Evans was excellent as Torch.
But the man of the movie was Michael Chiklis, he simply was Ben Grimm in every way shape and form.
I have very high hopes for FF2.

Oh yes. Melikes the Ben.
It was actually funny the first time I saw FF (I didn't see it in theaters because, like some other fans, I was afraid they'd mess it up). I was at my friend Ted's Christmas gift exchange, and one of the gifts ended up being FF, so we watched it. Well, one of our other friends that was there happens to be named Ben, and he's also a really big guy (and I mean big), so every time Ben Grimm came onscreen, he'd freak out and insist that we call him "The Thing" from then on. T'was quite interesting.

I didn't see it in the theatre either. Strapped for cash, but I bought it on dvd without seeing it. Was a very worthwhile investment.

I'm so excited about this! I watched the trailer as soon as it was online.
I saw the first one in theaters, the week after it came out I believe. I really liked it... and still do of course!
I origionally watched it because it had Ioan Gruffud in it, and I really like him. I had seen him in the Hornblower A&E miniseries, and wanted to see him in other things.

Well, I wasn't too impressed with the original Fantastic Four (I considered it rather lame, and really rushed), but this one looks like it should be okay. I mean, the Silver Surfer is seriously among my top 10 favorite Marvel characters. He is awesome...and they've got his look down pat for the movie. That's really cool.

I guess it was kinda rushed, but I enjoyed it for what it was. A decent movie adaptation and exposition of 4 iconic characters.
But yeah..I'm almost bouncing off the walls with how awesome Norrin looks. Doug Jones has him down perfectly.

Ditto to the bouncing off the walls thing. It looks really awesome.
Off topic, kind of--they should have some other Marvel superheroes in a movie like this sometime. Like Fantastic 4 plus the X-men or Spiderman or something. Tie it together for those who don't know that they're in the same Universe. That would be cool.
