Hello! Now where do I begin, ah yes; I am a mother of 4 children and I have 3 strapping grand-sons that at times drive me crazy! 
I wasn't introduced to LOTR until the movies came out, but now I have like the rest of you become a full blown 'ringer'! 
I have had the great opportunity to have attended both ORC conventions and hope to attend ELF in Chicago in 2007.
I hope that in some small way I may contribute to this great site and may the force be with you! Whoops, the wrong galaxy! :lightsabre: , Just kidding!!!

Thank you Luthien for a warm welcome to your beautiful site. Yes I am no doubt one of the 'mature' ones, 50plus going on 20 according to my kids when it comes to LOTR!  I have my son Jonathan to thank for introducing me to Middle Earth and all of the many 'adventures' that I have so far experienced. 
Now as to how many LOTR actors I have had the privilege to have met, well let me see at ORC 2005:
1. Elijah Woods; such a doll!!
2. Sean Astin; a perfect gentleman!!
3. Billy Boyd; a character!!
4. Dominic Monaghan; a cut up!!
5. John Rhys Davis; he loves to tickle you!!
6. Bruce Hopkins; Gamling, such a riot!!!!!!!!
7. Royd Tolkien; sweet and cute!!
8. Elf, Sandro Kopp, girls he is a great looker!!
9. Elves, Jarl & Jorn Benzon; cuties!!
10. Peter Tait; Shagrat
11. Daniel Reeve; Made all the maps and elvish writings including the RING'S!
ORC 2006;
1. Once again the Hobbits except Dom who couldn't get away for LOST
2. John Noble; Denethor, after you hear him speak you even love his character!
3. Miranda Otto; Eowyn, very sweet, loved her boots!!!
4. Daniel Reeve; I just wanted to hug him to death!!!
I also have met Howard Shore and have attended 4 LOTR Symphonys and plan to attend one next month in Louisville Ky.
So as you can tell I am hopelessly hooked on LOTR! 
Now as to the BANNERS, is it hard to get one of those? I love them!!

wow!! i'm so jealous! i would love to meet actors/actresses from LOTR. and the ELF convention in Chicago, when is that? i liv about an hour away from chicago, and would give just about ANYTHING to go to a LOTR convention!

Nice to meet you Caoilfhionn! I realize that I have been so blessed to be able to have attend all of the many functions that I have, and to have met all of those great actors! Now as to the ELF Convention in Chicago, it is to be held July 27-29 of 07. Not sure where in Chicago but Creation Entertainment will let us know.

...i dont want to spoil everything for you, but I didnt like how they did the movie. It seemed too short, and they cut major things. Along with that, they mention something that Eragon doesnt find out till the next book!
