Khienro took the leaf without question, and his breathing soon calmed down somewhat as he chewed on the whitish-green leaf. Then, looking over at Naidele, his brow furrowed.

"You alright?" He asked, she looked very disturbed by the hight that they were at.

"Do not underestimate yourself," Orindil advised, laying a hand on her slender arm. "You've just yet been shoved into this world, and battling a foe as great as Okandar is no mere feat."

His face remained as passive as ever, but for a moment his silver eyes met her blue ones and held them fast. He continued in a voice of steel, "All is not yet lost."

Naidele managed a small smile of thanks as she took the leaf from Orindil. She nibbled on it as she sat down beside Khienro. "I've been better," she replied to his question. She glanced nervously down at the ground far far below them one more time and took a deep breath. "I'm not used to this." Right then she wished she was as comfortable as Nakaida was with air. She turned her attention back to Khienro. "What about you?" she asked.

Khienro looked anxiously down at the far away ground.

"I've been better." He quoted her earlier sentence, "And its quite hot up here... Much more so than the fires I work with at the shop..." He continued to chew on his leaf, so that his breathing was back to normal. "I suppose the heat dosn't bother you all that much?" He asked, looking her up and down, trying to determine if she was effected by the heat, as he most definatly was. He was sweating, and his whole body was red.

"No..." said Nakaida, and did not look away, or attempt to escape his touch. "No, there is hope yet." There was a silence - but not an awkward one in the least.

Then she turned to Khienro. "I would attempt to assist you - but unfortunately, drawing oxygen away from the fire to cool it would also draw your own air supply away." This was delivered with the ghost of a grin. Nakaida herself was not overtly troubled by the heat.

Naidele could tell how uncomfortable he was. She wished she could do something to ease the heat, but in all her training she had mostly learned to create fires not put them out. Also, trying to use her powers again when she was so weakened would only diminish her strength more.

She shrugged. "A little," she replied. The heat was certainly uncomfortable, but she knew that in that area she was better off than the rest. "Since I have to manipulate fire, part of my training was to withstand extremely hot temperatures."

She smiled slightly at Nakaida's words, knowing that her sister too wasn't as affected by the heat as others would be.

Khienro swivled in his spot, casting a glance at Naikada,

"Well, I would much rather roast than sufficate, sense I won't exactly roast... But that you for the... Considerate offer." He said this, his voice heavy with sarcasm, and mischief dancing in his eyes.

Orindil raised an eyebrow at the quips from the others, then added to their conversation, "What do you mean... never been burned at the stake before? Quite a pleasurable experience, actually." His tone made it impossible to tell if he jested or not.

Khienro turned around, so that he could get a less painfull view of Orindil,

"Ah, And I asume you have then?" He asked, smirking.

Quote:
Having separated from Gabilon a while back and agreed to rendezvous at Okandar's camp ten miles north of the city, Vsysh wove languid circles in the air above the group. The two human males in the elf were meddling fools - they could be dealt with and easily. It was the two Keepers that concerned him - though if the ease at which they'd captured the other three Keepers spoke any volumes, he really shouldn't be worried.

His fleshless lips drew back in a grin as he signaled the other winged assassins circling near him. Soon. Very soon. For now, he could wait.

Gabilon and the half-demons with him soon made their way towards Okandar's camp at the north of the city. Surely with their prisoner of war, one of the keepers were held safe still under the strong hands of demons. Gabilon somehow came the feeling out of nowhere, wanted to go near her. Even this half demons bothers him too much, their appreance should have made the keeper captive so sick. "We settle here in this night, I am so much tired and we have still much more road to walk. Get a campfire going" he said the demons who are not holding the keeper's hand. As slowly as the major tent was being set up for Gabilon, the campfire were started to burn. "Bring the keeper right here, right beside me".

"Excellent, human..." Vsysh rasped, eyeing Gabilon's three captive Keepers with glowing eyes. "We make for our lord's citadel tomorrow. Lord Okandar shall be most pleased..."

--------

"Your kind these days aren't very tolerant," Orindil replied in dry tones.

The fire demon's sheer speed was nothing short of impressive. As the sky steadily darkened, an ardent sunset bathed the barren wastelands below them in vermilion. If one squinted hard enough, a lone citadel could be spotted in the distance towering over a promontory by the sea.

Nakaida turned to regard the sunset, which resembled a blaze of the fire she was so accustomed to seeing Naidele use - that same fire that now twined around the bars of their prison like vines. She swallowed. Perhaps soon she could remedy her mistake...Nakaida still blamed herself for the alacrity with which all five Keepers had entered Okandar's clutches.

Naidele was lost in thought as she looked out at the sunset. Hopefully they would learn something of their other three sisters soon. No doubt they had been captured also. After a moment she turned her attention back to the others. She kept her voice at a low whispers since she wasn't sure who or what could be listening to them. "What are we going to do once we get here? How are we going to defeat Okandar?" They needed to devise some kind of plan.

Khienro nodded at Orindil's comment, then turned his head towards the sunrise. Then, in responce to Naidele's question, started wispering.

"Well, the best idea that I can come up with is to convinse at least his demon minions that we are helpless in their control, and that we will do what they wish... That will get us into Okandar's custody, probably not all that heavy security, sense they will think we are helpless and weak, and that will give us leadway to give Okandar a surprise attack from the inside. Not to mention that while we are in custody, we can survey the demons, and mabye learn a weakness or something..." He siad this aloud, although it wasn't all that audible, and quite hard to hear if you were several feet away from him.

(I was at school today, so I couldn't..)

As she was brought forward, Alayna didn't even bother to raise her head. All her self control was being used to keep a passive expression on her face, rather than a look of disgust, which was what she was actually feeling. Her mouth was pressed to a thin line, regardless, and she was clearly not pleased in the least.
