^^ My brother, who is just 2 years older than I, is one of the factors on why I am a tom-boy. When we were little, we would play war with our stuffed animals. And when I went over to my very spoiled cousin Ariel's house, I would spend all day pulling the heads off of her many Barbie and Kent dolls. :D

That sounds like fun, Wingfoot... :-D I wish my mum would let me do stuff like that. lol

Her favourite thing to say to me at the moment, is 'It isn't ladylike to *insert action of choice* like that!' It irritates me...

I have that exact same thing all the time. In addition to my mother, I have my sister too. :annoyed2:

What I hate now is that it seems, once you reach puberty, girls must eaither become complete and total athletes to be considered tomboyish or else you get shoved into the geeky pile of non-dateable girls that no one pays attention to. Why can't I still run around and play, even though I'm not a star athlete, and why can't I still have friends who are guys? :disgust:

I hate that too. I like sports and all, but imaginary stuff takes precedence in my mind, which puts me below some girls I know that are totally commited to sports, but are very, very girly. I'm getting sick of being a wallflower.

Yeah, me too. I'm not as into sports and I just like to have fun, and not be so competitive and perfect. I've always had guys who were some of my best friends but now I'm in a new school where I don't know anyone that well, and it's like to talk to a guy you have to have a crush on him.

I don't get that, luckily. We have the girly-girls and us, where 'us' is me and a few of the sane girls in my class. In my group of friends of about 12, 7 of them are guys. I love sports and play them loads but I'm not great at all of them. In my class, to be classed as a 'tomboy' means that you don't spend half an hour at lunch time in the bathroom with a make-up bag.

You're lucky; at my school it's like the popular people, the wannabes, and me. I used to have friends when I was in elementary (who were basically the people who made me a tomboy) but just my luck, they both moved.

I actually love sport, I'm best at rugby and basketball :-D There don't seem to be any other tomboys around in my school. The people who I hang out with are all the people who don't really fit in, like me. And then when we were talking about random things, and I said that my best friend was a guy, suddenly everyone is going 'You've got a boyfriend, you've got a boyfriend!' It drives me mad. There is so much pressure on younger teenagers to get a boyfriend!

Meh...my sister's friend has a 'boyfriend', but becuase they are only thirteen, 'going out' consists of not talking to each other, not going near each other, occasionally passing notes to each other..etc...

My best friends are all boys, so I get the boyfriend stuff a lot. Really stinks.

My friend, who is a boy, says that it is just not worth it to get a girl/boy friend at an early age. Alot of fighting, he says. He is 21 and I am 16, so I just ask him about such things. ;)

I could have gone to an all-girls school, but I chose to go to a mixed one...nothing against the same-sex schools, but I'd absolutely hate it. My old friend went there and she says everyone's so catty and arrogant. And there wouldn't be any guys to disrupt the class :P

Sure! I mean, guys are more spontaneous (generally speaking) and they can make any occasion funny!

And we love the time wasting :P Without guys in my class, I'd have to endure 50 minutes of Science without a single attempt at setting a table on fire...
