I want a Phantom mask! :D..which would be completely pointless unless I had the Phantom to go with it. :-( Hmm...how can I kidnap Gerry Butler and make him wear it....*thinks*..

Yes well, he wouldn't need to ;).

Still, replicas of the swords will probably sell for a lot. I mean, they're gorgeous period swords!

Ah, but I need something to fill the mask....;)

I bags the Phantom sword! :D

Oh, I was wrong by the way. The 2.5 tonne chandelier actually had a stunt chandelier for the falling and breaking seen. *phew* I thought it was the proper one. There was also another one, for the electric light.

I was reading the screenplay last night, which was really interesting as some of the scenes and why they happened, you couldn't always "get it" in the actual film..either that or I'm just dumb. The scene when Christine and the Phantom are walking down the tunnel to his lair, I always wondered what the hands coming from the wall were for, and why the candles came out of the water. Apparently this was all in Christine's head, as she believed the whole experience to be magical. No-one else saw the tunnels or lair in the same light. Never really noticed that before, or if I did, I never thought why it had changed. :-)

I have to watch PotO again---I've only watched it six times so far. xD I still don't think Phanny's ugly enough and terrifying enough, and Meg/Phanny is my official PotO ship.

Lol, I think I have seen it... three times... way behind. Hmm... maybe not, but I think it was more a case of he was ugly enough for people not turn him away, and it was this and everything else he had been through, that made him act like he did, and so by nature he was terrifying, not just because of how he looked.

In other versions there are themes that the fact that he was so unnatural ugly made him how he was---yes, because people turned away from him, terrified---but the fact that they couldn't BARE to look at him, made him resent them, and resent himself---so there's a deep-rooted conflict between himself, and the world.

Yes, like the original stage version, he was pretty ugly.

Hmm, I can see what you and other people are saying about him not looking as firghtening as he should do ... maybe the fear was with a film, where you would be seeing the Phantom much closer than people sitting in a theatre, is that if you made him too ugly, people might not feel for him or something like that.

I don't really think I could watch PotO that much, I would go on a PotO mania and sing every single song EVERYWHERE.

Lol, I don't think I could watch any film that much. In time, I'd probably get fed up with it, and it would lose the magic for me. I'd rather have healthy doses of a film, and know it won't lose its appeal to me.

Yeah, Two-three times a year or so...long enough apart so that you forget this and that happens.

That's about right. I only watch LOTR once a year so I know I won't get fed up with that. I think I've seen POTO once this year, so I'm about due to see it again. :-)
