Grumbling what sounded like very..unpleasent curses under her breath, Alayna pushed herself to her knees with a slight grimace, pushing her long, dark hair out of her face. Judging by the throbbing in her wrist, it had been twisted, maybe fractured, when she had fallen on it after being thrown unceremoniously in the room. That, of course, only added to her less than pleasent mood. "That all depends on your definition of 'all right'..." she then murmured, with a brief glance at Nakaida.

"Well, you're not dead, which is what we were worried about," said Nakaida matter-of-factly, glad of an excuse not to wallow in her misery. She knelt down to help Alayna up. "That can only be a good thing."

For once, Alayna actually smiled, albeit wryly, in keeping with her less than optimistic view of things. "I suppose so." she replied quietly, getting to her feet, albeit a bit shakily, with her sister's help. "What a mess we've gotten into.." she then added darkly, with a displeased expression on her face as she glanced about the room they were in.

I have failed her... The thought numbed his mind as he sank to the ground and dropped his head into his hands. I was their guide. And I have failed... them... He noted the pronoun case of the former despairing thought, and didn't have to look far to know who he meant. Angry at himself, he shook the thought away. He. Was. Elf. She. Was. Not.

Rather than cast another shadow over his heart, he found himself suddenly incensed. Would they be defeated so readily?

Orindil waited until the one handing out orders had left, then immediately leaped to his feet. Groping in the darkness, he began feeling the walls. His hands moved deftly up and down, searching for crevices, broken masonry... anything. The bricks and the mortar between them were sheer and perfectly smooth.

He came to the steel bars and gave them an experimental rattle. In the dim torchlight beyond the cell, he sighted clearly the back of the guard's head. He shot a glance at his bow, hanging from a rack ten feet down the corridor. Useless.

He snapped a sharp gaze back at the stationary Khienro. "Are you always so easily defeated?"

Aeryn contiuned to search with his hands for a crease or something...but he had to stop when the gaurds came in with food.

"I'm so glad you all are alright!" Naidele exclaimed, a smile coming to her face for the first time in a while. She hugged each of her sisters in turn, greatly relieved that they had not been killed.

"We are all alive," she said after Alayna had spoken, "And we're together. Together we stand a chance. We will think of something to do." It was easier to be optimistic now that they were all reunited. She had to remind herself that they were still in grave danger though. But still five Keepers were better than two.

Aeryn looked at the gaurds as the put the food down and one of the gaurds looked at him. Aeryn gave him a cold, hard glare. The gaurd smirked before he left. Aeryn didn't touch the food...or even move too.
