I dunno, I've been liking Jack less and less the more I think about DMC and what might happen in AWE. He just isn't the same Jack as he was in CotBP. So that line doesn't carry an overtly large load of awesomeness for me...I just find it intriguing, and I wonder whether he's referring to Elizabeth's guilt or Will's need of the Pearl. I guess we know for sure now that he DOES get rescued. I never heard for sure whether he did or not.

The full line is:
Quote: JACK He needs the Pearl -- (to Elizabeth) -- and you felt guilty -- (to Barbossa) -- and you and your Brethren Court ... Didn't anyone come to save me just because they missed me?
Gibbs, Marty and Cotton raise their hands -- Pintel and Ragetti see, and follow their lead.
JACK (CONT'D) (points) I'm standing over there with them.
So yes, Mel got it right on. It's not actually right as he's rescued though. It's quite a bit later after Will does...something.

You do know you drive us insane, potr?
Glad I got something right for once, though At least it seems like he's not going to forgive Elizabeth right away, that's not Jack-like.

Yeah. Not liking Jack much. Just Will, it seems like he's the only good guy left. And if we lose him in the third movie, who knows, I doubt I'll see it anyway...

whats his Brethren Court? No, the stabbing of the heart occurs later on (and I only said that it is confirmed to the furthest extent of my knowledge; things can potentially change). And the Brethren Court...kinda hard to explain. Basically, remember Elizabeth's line back in CotBP ("According to the Code of the Order of the Brethren-")? That's them. The Brethren Court is a very rare gathering of the nine Pirate Lords. The last time they met, it ended rather badly (though they don't say exactly what went wrong). But the time before that, they produced the Pirate Code. And at the very first meeting, they trapped the goddess Calypso in human form, thus giving pirates control of the seas. Now that they have lost control of the seas to Beckett (who has the heart of Davy Jones), the Court is meeting again to release Calypso (so that she may once again control the sea) and wage their war against Beckett. It's not specified exactly how long it's been since the last meeting, but Barbossa and Sao Feng both state that it was before their lifetimes. Each of the nine Pirate Lords had in their possession a single piece of eight (a small silver coin, like the one on Jack's bandana). It is the responsibility of each Pirate Lord to pass his (or, on the rare occasion, hers) on to a new person before death, because all nine pieces must be brought together to officially hold the Brethren Court (it was in this manner that at least Jack, Barbossa, and Sao Feng received theirs). Jack died before he could pass on his piece of eight, hence Barbossa going to rescue him for "his Brethren Court." He doesn't want Jack; he wants his piece of eight. Basically, the entire movie is centered around the Brethren Court. Without them, none of it would be happening. Meldawen wrote: You do know you drive us insane, potr?
Yup! It's my job, and I do it well. But you must admit, life would be terribly boring without a wee bit of insanity sprinkled here and there to liven things up.
Besides, I am occasionally nice. *points to the rest of the post*

I just had a thought.
Is this how Jack's dad fits in? He passed the piece of eight on to Jack? Or he has one himself? Or both? Is he one of the Pirate Lords?
*Is very curious* I think I may have stumbled on something here.

Umm...yes. We're still a bit unsure as to Teague's exact role in the films, but he is/was the Pirate Lord of Madagascar.

Yes, potr, in fact that post up there was incredibly nice! I did know most of it, but you introduced to me that bit about Calypso and what was going on with her.
Everyone here does know who Calypso is, riiiight?
I have a couple piccies that I found all on me onesy, none of very important value, the ones of special value are the ones from the forum-that-cannot-befounf-except-by-the-ones-who-know-where-it-is, and i dunno if i should post those, I wouldn't want POTR to kill me.
Anywyas, rambling, I might post mine later. But once again, thanks for that bit of info there *copies and pastes into word document of POTC3-ness*

Oh no, feel free, Ms.G. The only one that can't be posted is the one from Marty's site that caused a good bit of trouble. I have no problem with other people sharing stuff. Who knows? Maybe you'll actually find something I didn't know yet!

*chuckles embarrassingly* There's a soul here that doesn't. Care to enlighten it?

How come I feel like I've seen that clip of Johnny saying "Didn't anyone come to save me just because they missed me?" I swear I've seen it before either in real life or I dreamed it which would be really creepy...but it's not the first time that's happened before.

*chuckles embarrassingly* There's a soul here that doesn't. Care to enlighten it? Calypso's the goddess of the sea - e.g. Tia Dalma, basically. She's also the woman Davy Jones loved - obviously enough to tear out his heart because she didn't love him back. And the writers considered calling AWE Calypso's Fury, I believe? Aerandir wrote: Who're Sao Feng and Teague? I'm kind of lost here. Sao Feng is an Asian pirate lord. I think. He's got a role in the third movie. But I can't remember whether he's good or bad....if you can still call it that If we call Elizabeth and Will and co. 'good' then I think Sao Feng would be 'bad'. Teague is Teague Sparrow, Jack's dear old dad pirateoftherings wrote: Umm...yes. We're still a bit unsure as to Teague's exact role in the films, but he is/was the Pirate Lord of Madagascar.
Cool. News to me that Madagascar even had a Pirate Lord!
And I dunno, BR. That's odd

Well...Sao Feng is somewhat...ambiguous. It really depends on whose side you're on. He's against Jack at all times, but other characters...yeah. He's not exactly an ally, but he does enable a certain character to do a certain thing (which, depending on who you're rooting for, could be perceived as good or bad). He's the Pirate Lord of Singapore, which is where the movie starts off, but he also plays an important role later on. Dno't really want to get too detailed on it, because it's a major, major, major spoiler, and I have a feeling that it'll bring back up an old discussion that I quickly got tired of. So...yes. Sao Feng = ambiguous.
