Well I'm in no place to give you advice about this but I'll try. i know when a horse stops or does something that you expect in a pattern you have to make sure they can't do it.
So if you know he's going to stop loosen your reins and tap him with you legs so he knows you want him to go. Other than that if he still does it you might want to change to a less severe bit.

Haha. I like apples better than carrots too. There very sweet and juicy! *licks lips*. My horse just eats anything...litterally. All she seems to care about is food! One of the horses at my barn, Jasmine, doesnt really like any type of food. Its really weird. But Mia on the other hand loves it all. Haha!

Wow a warmblood!! Thats amazing! They are really good dressage horses too. Is it your own horse? I have only had my horse for about 3 months so im still having troubly with the whole dominance problem. She just doesnt care about anything I tell her to do on the ground, and doesnt respect me yet. My friend is helping me with alot of natural horsemenship stuff so hopefully that helps :)

It's a bad thing if your horse is becoming dominant...even dangerous. I think there is still time to put her in her place.

Yeah. She isnt dangerous or anything she is just really disrespectful, and its gets really agrivating cuz she doesnt pay attention. This usually only happens when I lunge her. When I ride she is fine. I just have to keep her attention cuz she seems to wonder off alot :P She is still young too, only 5, so I have many years to work on that :)[quote]

Well, that's good she's not dangerous. Dancer will be five this month and she listens to me, but you have to teach your horse now to respect you or you'll have problems. Here's a tip if when your longing, if your horse is looking away at you, tug at the longe line until she looks at you. Hope this helps, but to get your horse to respect you, it takes time...and consistency

Then I got her to back up by waving the lunge line, and got her to switch directions on command! I was soo happy :) Shes even coming up to me in the fields when she sees me!

^Haha Shadowfax'sLastStand what a odd choice of food for your horse to eat :P

That's awesome! How exciting. I can't really take Diesel on trail because some idiot a couple years ago took him out on trail bareback while I was still leasing him (he didn't ask permission first and it happened the one day I didn't go out to the stables) and Diesel threw the guy off and got loose on the trail and now is traumatized by the road near our stables. He flips out every time I take him on trail and I don't blame him.

Awww im sorry :( Thats really horrible. Diesel is a really cool name. Whats his full name? A horse at my barn, Morgan, is also terrified to go in the trailer. She will do it but she breaks into a sweat and freaks out. I think her pervious owners were really rough with her and stuff. I hate when people mistreat horses. Its not right at all. Expecually with training some people beat the horses to get them to do what they want

That's sounds like fun, going to a State Park and Trail Ride. I haven't done for a year.

As for trailering, Dancer loads well, but one time two months ago, my dad tried to get her in a trailer and she would not go and when we did ge her in there, she' freak and back out, then dad got a brilliant idea of pulling on her to make her go, but she didn't like that, so she pulled back, broke my favorite lead rope and ran off, but we got her, rode her and tried one more time, and she still wouldn't budge. Sorry to hear what happened to Diesel. That was pretty dub of the guy to take him.

You could try bribing your horse with treats to get into the trailer Lady Raine  Its never good when a horse doesnt load. Im always afraid that something will happen. Like the trailer tipping over while driving or getting in a crash. That would be horrible! :'(
