I can actually enjoy a movie a whole lot more if I know what is going on. If not, I barely notice anything interesting because I'm biting my nails the whole time. Some people like this situation (which is OK by me) but I would rather know the plot so I can enjoy how it is delivered. Then I can notice the music, the camera angles, (I'm such a nerd ) the funny lines...etc.

it takes practice trying to notice everything at once, i like some spoilers, i like figuring things out on my own, i find that spoilers are the sprinkles that you add to the cake of the movie, they make everything a little bit sweeter when you have some idea as to whats going on.

I'm exactly the same way, RA. I'd much rather know what's going on in the big picture so that I can better appreciate the finer details. I loved knowing that Barbossa was coming down those stairs, because instead of thinking "OMG, who on earth is coming down the stairs? Is it Jack? Is it someone new? Who is it?!", I was grinning like a madwoman and thinking "OMG IT'S BARBOSSA TIME! The boots! The hat! Say the line...say the line....yes! He said it! Now bite the apple! ." And much the same with the "Hello, Beastie" scene and many, many others. I love knowing what's going to happen because for me, anticipation is far better than suspence.

lol!
I knew about Barbossa too, but not because of spoilers...because of spoiling friends..xD
I'm spoilerfizing this movie WAY WAY WAY more than AWE...and I think I pretty much know most of whats out there...i hope....I have like..Word document upon Word document for AWE.
It's funny, and RA I agreee, ever since I've been in Cinematogrophy (Film Class) I've loved bieng able to find deeper meaning, analyze angles, lighting, mise-en-scene, blocking...I lurves it!

Well, I didn't know Anything of what was going to happen durring PotC 2. See I didn't have computer contacts and I went the day after (however I tried to go on opening day) so none of my friends had the chance to fill me in on what happened either. So I totally had no clue what was going to happen.
To be honest this is the first movie that I've had alot of spoilers on....well this one and the LotR movies. So I'm not really sure if I like knowing what's happening or not. For the time being I love it but it may change after I actually watch it. I'll have to wait and see. However I must add that I'm totally grateful to all here who spoiler hunt and such for us. I"t really is nice of you.

I agree completely with you both! I personally don't find shock and confusion enjoyable, I find anticipation amazing. Watching DMC, I knew everything but the very last scene, so I was really, really enjoying myself in that way. And it will be the same with AWE.
And I too study all the camera angles and so on. I started doing that because I'm in middle of filming my own home movie, so I love studying cinematography in movies I like and getting new ideas. Or then sometimes I'll be like "that was a poorly done shot," and everyone stares at me. My graphic making also gets in the way; I'll be watching PotC or LotR and suddenly I'll say "Oh, I want a screencap of that! That would make an awesome banner!"

Oh my gosh, yes!
That happens to me ALL the time.
Anyways, back to POTC, I find Norrie an interesting topic of conversation.
What do you guys think will happen to him?

Haha! I love cinematology! And of course, the music is extremely important to me (I have a slightly nerdish obsession with music)

I'm the sort of person who hates annalyzing things, i hate putting things on the operation tabel and picking them apart one by one, so i prefer to not enjoy the camera angles, lighting is nice, but...other than that. I like music and all, but analyzing just reminds me too much of dissecting an animal, sure its nice to see all of those things but...they're much better together than pinned to analyze. Thats just my opinion

i agree. i mean i like knowing some things but i would rather enjoy the story as a whole instead of picking apart every little detail like: oh they should have done this or the lighting looks weird here. or why did they chose to shot it this way. if i don't think about those things i tend to enjoy the movie better. ( there maybe a few things that might pop out at me and ill notic them and say somthing but other than that i don't pay attention)
now i do like the extras and behind the scenes stuff on the dvd's but that stuff is different.thats more of a documentery in a sence

I'm totally the opposite of most of you, the fact that I'm on the edge of my seat the entire movie is what makes it enjoyable for me. Which is why I've sort of stopped hanging around the-site-that-cannot-be-found-except-by-those-who-already-know-where-it-is, because spoilers are frequenting.
PotC tidbit - so I'm babysitting yesterday, and DMC happens to come up in conversation between me and the ten-year-old girl (fancy that, eh?). And she goes, "Oh, my favorite part was where she kisses Jack!"
<---me. I had to work really hard not to freak out!

So apparently we have some really different opinions on spoilers. That is to be expected.
She said that?!?!?!?!?!? *gags* *chokes*
I would have freaked out. I would have been like "WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!" and gone and banged my head against a wall or something for a few minutes.
