okay people, im sick of talking about J?E shippers, maybe if thats all we can talk about, we should abandon this thread, we know that it bothers many of you, but they are out there, and nothing will change their minds until AWE comes out, so please, can we talk about something else?

Agreed. The shipper wars really need to stop. People act as though the only thing that matters is who Elizabeth ends up with. Yes, there are some obnoxious J/E shippers, but I happen to know just as many obnoxious W/E shippers. It's not the ship that defines a person; a jerk is a jerk is a jerk, and they'll be a jerk regardless of whether they ship Willabeth, Sparrabeth, Norribeth, Beckabeth, Barbossabeth, or any other kind of -beth you can conjure up. I know several very courteous and talented J/E shippers, and I'm not 100% against the pairing myself (I would prefer W/E, but I'll take whatever the writers give me), so I'd appreciate it if we stopped talking about J/E shippers as though they were all the same person. If someone had encountered a few nasty W/E shippers and then automatically assumed that you would behave in the same manner, you'd be furious. So let's not do the same thing to Sparrabethers. They're people too, and what's more, they're fellow pirate fans. We should enjoying the thousands of other wonderful aspects of PotC, not bashing each other over trivial differences. We're all in this together, so let's act like it, hmm?

And I loved Beckett's entrance. Some interesting background on that is that Ted & Terry have been trying for almost a decade to introduce a villain in that manner. Almost every film they've made, they've tried to write in a scene where the main villain rides in on a horse in a boat, but every time they've been turned down for either budget reasons or just practicality. Gore and Jerry are the first ones to ever say, "Sure, that sounds cool. Let's do it." So...yeah. There you have it. Beckett's grand arrival. :D

When he was on his horse...it looked like Washington crossing the Delaware

Usually when there are short people in movies they do things to make them look taller but they didn't bother to do that with Tom Hollander. When he stands in front of the map he looks 4 ft tall.

I'm actually starting to like Beckett a little, mostly because he's short and I've always had a thing for short guys :P.

*squees* I just got a Norrington action figure today, I'm so happy :D! Yes I'm a dork and I don't care :P.

Action figures annoy me, they never look much like the character. Plus I'm scared of spending money, so I never buy them anyway...I generally talk myself out of something three minutes after I pick it up :)

 I'm pretty outspoken against J/E...but agreed, it's not all about who Elizabeth ends up with. I have an annoyingly one-track mind is all. Anyway, apologies if I've been lumping J/E shippers into categories - it was most unfair of me!

*is burned* Sorry. I just have... certain other reasons for not like the Sparrabethers.

I really like that shot, of Becket coming up on the boat. It was awesome. Kind of mystical. It almost looks like it would fit in a fantasy. Maybe I'll do something like that in one of my stories...

Oi, that'll be so cool ^^ I don't really give much thought about who Elizabeth ends up with. I just like the villians. Heh, Davy Jones is the best.

So...are we talking about action figures now?

^Oh, I agree. Davy Jones is the best villain after Ra's and Vader. His Scotish accent, the way he imitated Jack Sparrow, the speech he gave when he was summoning the Kraken, and his tentacles. I think the writers did a great job with Davy.

Well really, it is only people's opinions so I don't see anything wrong with expressing it. At least we are talking about POTC, which is what the topic is about, all aspects of POTC. *shrugs* I can see why it annoys people, imagine if it was an Arwen/Aragorn/Eowyn triangle, people would voice opinions there as well. There are plenty of things in topics that while some people love to discuss others are bored of it.

Beckett's entrance was good, but as I said earlier the interspersing of his scene with Lizzie's in the rain was horribly confusing. It should have been one or the other, or just not together.

Davy Jones is fantastic. It is my belief he is even better than Gollum. Not just his facial feaures but the expressions and mannerisms like the little "lip pop" he does and when he's smoking his pipe. It's hard to believe it's CGI and not a mask.

Another thing was the Jack and Lizzie flirting. There had been no hint of any hanky panky in COTBP yet as soon as they were on board it started.

Jack's been wanting to get lucky with Elizabeth since the first film. He was hoping to get on with her when they were stuck on that island together which was more than obvious.

*groans* I knew J/E was the preffered ship, but it drives me NUTS. It just proves how... perverted this world is. YUCK. :yuck:

The biggest problem with that forum is that it's overrun by the perverts that are J/E shippers. :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

Oh so I am a pervert? I'm a shipper of both and would therefore not mind a J/E ending and feel that was highly uncalled for.

However, this doesn't mean the J/E shippers don't drive me mad. I can't stand them. Like I said, they're perverts. They make me want to scream.

Gee, thanx!

 I always thought they were using prosthetic make-up at first, maybe with a bit of CGI. It looked so realistic and I was just full-blown awed. He's got a fantastic story behind him too but I think that's already been talked about in this topic.

He had a little make-up around his eyes and mouth but that was about it. The rest was all CGI. Outstanding :)

Well, they did have the makeup, but they didn't use it. They simply had it applied in case the CGI couldn't get detailed enough (though that obviously wasn't a problem :teehee:). They ended up doing the whole thing CGI, even the eyes.

Hmm, I could have sworn they said on the DVD that the eyes were Bill's own but the rest obviously was CGI.

Hmm...you may be right, Eru, but they just don't seem the same as Bill's. Bill has deeper blue eyes (or, as LoR put it, "true blue"), but Davy's had almost a supernatural electric-blue quality to them (the same blue as the crewmen's). I just know that when you see the base CGI for Davy (the basic gray without all the texturing and coloring and such), his eyes are opaque as well, rather than opening up to reveal Bill's own eyes. *shrugs*
