Alendariel bit her lip. She hadn't gotten any sleep. "No. I won't be the cause of a delay. I'll go give the order." she left the house swiftly.

Maralyn sighed. "Very well, then," she murmured, finishing her bun. She turned to Taranu. "Well, I'd better get going if we're to set out before noon."
Her brother stepped forward and embraced her. "Navaer, gwanneth nin," he said, smiling slightly. "Stay safe."
Maralyn returned his embrace. "I will...tell Lhun and the children I will be thinking of them." At that, she turned to Lilaine. "Are you ready to leave, mellon nin?" she asked.

Alendariel mounted Galadelen to address the troops for additional height. "Good morn, mellon nin. This day we ride. Have the camp broken within two hours and there'll be double rations for you all!" she told them.
They cheered, and set to work immediately. She smiled, and returned to the house to find her armor.

Maralyn bent to pick up her travel pack, which was lying near the door. Lhun probably packed it for me last night, she thought with a smile. Hoisting it onto her shoulders, she turned to Lilaine a motioned for her to follow her out the door. As they walked, Maralyn spoke to her companion. "One does not need to be skilled in weaponry in order to be useful," she said, kicking a small pebble with the toe of her boot, "One simply must try to do what they do best...whatever that may be...and use it for the forces of good. For instance, my brother has never held a weapon in his life; instead, he cooks. Sometimes, he cooks for the weary soldiers who have returned from an expedition."

Lilaine thought on this for a moment. " that is good to know, my friend." she said smiling. "so do we know where we are actually going?" she said thinking about the days to come.

Maralyn smiled at Lilaine's eagerness to depart. "As soon as Alendariel prepares her kin to set off, and as soon as all our rupplies are in order."

Alendariel rode up triumphantly with two mounts trailing behind her. "Saddle up, mellon nin. We could not have you wasting your energy on transporting yourselves!" she smiled. "The troops astonished me once more with their speed and are prepared to leave. We await your direction, Lady Maralyn." she said with a smile.

Maralyn bowed graciously to Alendariel. "It is up to you now, mellon nin," she mounted the horse with one swift movement. "We move North, over the border!"

Alendariel turned her horse towards the North, the troops pouring after her.

Maralyn lightly kicked her horse's sides and followed Alendariel, her black hair bouncing off her shoulders. Although outwardly she looked composed, her heart was beating a mile a minute. Nothing excited her more than when she was on the hunt, and what a hunt this would prove to be!

A feeling of anxiety washed over her as she rode. She was determined not to loose her nerve, but it had been a long time since she had felt such insurmountable dread.

Lilaine looked forward, she was riding behind Maralyn and Alendriel. she knew that they would face sudden dangers like never before. she knew that she would be fighting evil face to face. no longer was she in the background waiting for her father to come home. she was in this battle.
