Naefrewyn smiled at Diore even though she knew she couldn't see it. "It's good to meet you, Diore," she said.

She followed the crowd deeper inside the fortress. "Who did you come here with?" she asked Diore after a moment, "A husband? Parents? Siblings?" A stab of pain shot through her heart as she thought of her own brother who was supposed to be there with her, but she pushed it down. "Maybe if you told me what they looked like I could help you find them."

Dìore smiled in return, somehow sensing the small gesture. "It's a pleasure to meet you, as well."

Then, there was a noticeable pause before the young woman responded. "No, I have no husband." she offered right off, nor would she have one, at the rate she was going.. "I came with my brother, but my mother and three younger siblings are also here somewhere."

Thinking it best to give a description of them, as well as she could, she began with her brother. "His name is Léoflic, and he's at least two heads taller than I. He has dark, curly hair, shoulder length, and dark brown eyes. And as for my mother..she has long, curly red hair like me, yet it is greying, and undoubtedly, my younger siblings will be in tow."

Arvel walked his horse up the steps and almost trampled a few people including two women, one with a crutch and the other a girl about his age was wearing a blue dress. Arvel, embarrassed, hopped off the mare and apologized to the women.
" i am so sorry my lady's my horse isn't exactly used to stairs yet and she isn't to found of the wall all around her either. Shes...We're... sorry." he dipped his head and gathered up his reins in one hand.He stroked the mares neck and started to led her up the stairs.

Naefrewyn's despair returned when Diore informed her that she had traveled there with her brother.

"I too traveled with my brother," she said quietly, "We were separated a while back, and I had hoped to find him again here, but...." She trailed off, unable to go on. With a shake of her head, she set herself to the task of helping to reunite Diore with her family.

She worked their way among the crowd, searching for anyone who matched the description Diore had given her.

Naefrewyn searched for a while, the whole time making sure that she didn't lose Diore in the process. Finally, when she was almost ready to give up, her eyes landed on a fairly tall man looking to be a few years older than herself with dark curly shoulder length her. She then saw that he was with an older woman with greying red hair and some younger children. She turned to Diore. "I think I may have found your family," she said happily.

She led Diore over to them. "Excuse me," she said to the man, "Are you by any chance Leoflic?" She stepped aside so that the group could clearly see Diore. She hoped that this was her family.

Léoflic, pausing in his conversation with the older woman, turned upon hearing his name spoken, and, after giving the woman a questioning look, he then noticed Dìore and looked immensely relieved.

"You found her." It was more a statement than a question, and he smiled and nudged Dìore over to their mother and siblings, who looked at least as relieved as he. "Thank you."

(( I'm sorry! I just noticed that this had already started.. ))

Scýne didn't really notice entering Helmsdeep. She had a heated debate with her brother Aswin. During their long ride they'd been attacked by Wargs. Aswin had joined the King's men since he had a horse and was a skilled swordsfighter. Scýne wanted to follow him, she could fight. But both her father and brother had ordered her to stay with the other refugees. After leaving their horses at the gates Aswin told Scýne that he would go and see the King in the hope he could offer help. Before Scýne was able to reply he'd disappeared in the crowd. Strong-headed she ran after him in the direction od the fortress. Half-way on the stairs she catched up with him. "You can't get rid of me that easily.." She said teasingly "come on little brother, I'll join you this time."

Léothír followed the crowd into the fortress. He'd told his parents and siblings hw was going to take a look around so they wouldn't worry about him. But there were enough people who did. Family members looked frantically around in order to find relatives or those who were left behind.

Naefrewyn smiled back. "I'm glad I could help," she said, "I saw Diore by herself, and I could tell she needed help."

She stood awkwardly for a moment, not knowing if she should leave now that she had helped Diore get back to her family, then she realized that she had not yet introduced herself. "I'm Naefrewyn."

"I'm thankful you helped her, and I know she is." Léoflic said, with the briefest hints of a smile, glancing over to his family, who were looking happier than he had seen them in quite a long time. They were all together again, with the exception of their father..but it was better than being split apart like they had been.

After that, he heard her introduction, and allowed himself a small smile. "And I'm Léoflic, though you seem to already know that much."

Dìore then interrupted him, before he could say ought else. "Naefrewyn, do you need help to find your brother now? I'm sure Léoflic would be glad to help, in return for your favor of helping me."

Léoflic, rather than get annoyed at his sister's offer for him to help, just shook his head a bit, biting back a chuckle of amusement. She had the canniest way of getting him into sticky situations..but it was true, he did owe this woman for helping his sister...and it couldn't be that hard to help her find her brother.

((I wasn't going to make Heorl Naefrewyn's brother, but I changed my mind, so I edited a few of my last posts of Heorl's thoughts.))

Naefrewyn bit her lip, not wanting to inconvenience these people but desperately longing to find her brother.

She looked from Leoflic to Diore then back again. Finally she said, "I would be very thankful for the help if it's not to much trouble for you." It would be easier to find her brother with two pairs of eyes rather than just hers. "His name is Heorl," she continued, "He's older than me, and he's tall. He has light brown hair that's about the length of yours, and he has dark eyes."

She glanced around at the surrounding people, praying that she would see Heorl, but he was no where to be found. She turned her eyes back to Leoflic. "Are you sure you don't mind?" she asked.

Léoflic's response to her inquiry was to immediately began searching among the nearest people, sharp eyes searching for any sign of a man matching the description given. "It's no trouble at all." he offered, after looking for a few moments with no success. "And I don't mind at all."

"Thank you so much," Naefrewyn said as she began to slowly step through the crowd, carefully searching for any sign of her brother. She hoped that they were able to find him. She couldn't bear the thought of something happening to him.

Heorl had been looking frantically for his sister as he walked with the crowd. His whole life, he had acted as her protector and guardian, especially after both their parents had passed away four years ago. She was younger than him, his little sister, and he felt responsible for her. He couldn't live with himself if something happened to her.

When he had almost given into despair, he caught out of the corner of his eye a glimpse of bright red hair. Immediately, he turned his head to the sight. "Naefrewyn!" he exclaimed, recognizing his sister. She was walking with a man who appeared to be around his own age. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Léoflic's only response to her thanks was a brief smile, as he devoted himself to searching through the crowds quite efficiently. As was his wont, he slipped back into silence, as he so often did when focusing on a task at hand. Just when he had started to wonder if their search was in vain, however, he heard someone call Naefrewyn's name, and turned towards the sound, then realized the man matched the description perfectly. They had finally found Heorl, or rather, he had found them.

Adwine smiled a bit as she saw a man and woman, who looked to be siblings, meeting up with each other. "Thire," she abruptly said to her brother, "do you think they're here?"
The man turned briefly to look at her. "Of course they are-they left a day ahead of us, after all." he turned his attention back to the crowds.

Naefrewyn felt tears of relief springing to her eyes as Heorl folded her in his strong embrace. She had worried so much that he had been lost, cut down by the Wargs or Orcs on the way to the keep. Now he was with her again.

She laughed joyously and tightened her arms around her brothers waist one last time before turning back around to face Leoflic. She gave him a beaming smile of gratitude.

"I don't know what I could ever do to thank you," she said, "Heorl is the only family I have." She turned her head towards her brother. "Heorl, this is Leoflic." She raised her eyebrows at her brother, urging him to also offer his thanks.

Heorl was shy, but he was so happy that the other man had brought Naefrewyn to him that he was able to overcome it. "I cannot thank you enough," he said to him, "My little sister here would have surely gotten herself into trouble without me to keep an eye on her." Naefrewyn narrowed her eyes at him, and he grinned mischeivously.

Highly amused by the antics of the siblings, Léoflic had to mask a laugh quickly by clearing his throat. In many ways, this reminded him of how he and Díore acted when together.

"I'm not so sure of that..she seems able to take care of herself." he then said in protest of the 'accusation' of Heorl, and knew he was likely about to get himself into the middle of an arguement..unless he was truly fortunate, which he doubted.

Naefrewyn smiled when she noticed Leoflic's amused look. Heorl laughed at his words, and then said, "You just don't know her like I do." He jumped out of reach as his sister aimed a playful punch at his arm, and then, after giving her a haughty look for missing, turned back to Leoflic.

"So did you come with family?" he asked. Naefrewyn, although she knew the answer, didn't want to appear rude, so she waited for Leoflic to answer.
