As the fellowship departed Rivendell in the lead of Gandalf the grey. Gandalf counted the way and thought of the path they must follow to reach the Mordor from the safest path as soon as possible.
We must hold this course west of the Misty Mountains for 40 days. If our luck holds the Gap of Rohan will still be open to us. From there our road turns east to Mordor.
As the days have passed slowly enough for nine companions from the day when they were to be chosen as companions against the threat of Mordor which rise up from the east in every second, they paused on a hill. The fellowship rested at last, Gandalf relaxed even a little bit, watched his companions' amusement.

When all the members of the Fellowship were sitting around, practising their swordskills, or cooking, Legolas was wandering near their campplace, to look for danger. After a while, he decided that the area was safe, and he sat back and relaxed a bit, while the others were still running around, doing their own bussiness.

"Move your feet.." Aragorn commented while smoking his carved pipe. It would be good for the Hobbits to learn some sword fighting, he expected them to need it.

Pippin looked over at Aragorn and then had to quicky dodge Boromir's sword's blow. He parried it quickly.

Boromir had to smile slightly when he looked at Pippin. "Good reaction", he said, moving his sword against Pippin's "Come on."

Legolas was still watching the others, and he was slightly amused by Pippin and Boromir, while they were practising their fights skills. He heard the grins of Aragorn, and from the other side Gimli and Gandalf were arguing about the right way. For the moment, Legolas decided that he would just stay were he was, and be watching the others.
