Welcome back, Lorien!
@Lady Raine: Well, I think the explanation why it is so hard to pick the best fight scene can be found in TTT movie discussion part in the "Unwashed Aragorn" thread . I think most of the female members of the forum like the way Aragorn looks after a battle best and that's probably the reason why we can't decide on only one battle.

Not only after the battles, but during them as well.
I really had to laugh when I read in the "Unwashed Aragorn" thread that someone recommened that he should keep digging around in mud and dirt even when he is King. How it would look like if you could trace all the muddy footprints of a king covered in dirt and sitting in his completely white throne hall.
I wondered how Arwen likes him better? As rugged and dirty Strider or as Elessar?

I'd find it funny that a grown man likes getting dirty. I don't think Arwen would like it that he is tracking mud all over the place because she couldn't keep the palace clean for more then five minutes!

Yeah, it would be funny indeed especially if this man is also a king.
I just tried to imagine how a discussion between them could be like when they're arguing about this matter. Arwen would have to decide between a clean palace or an even better looking husband. What a hard decision!
But certainly Aragorn would be driving the servants mad with this behaviour. Just imagine a Gondorian Guard who would have to follow him on each step and wipe up the dirty track he leaves behind him.
It would be even worse if Aragorn's son would have the same hobby like his dad.

I can see the poor Gondorian soldier wiping after Aragorn and most of the staff would most likly quit cause of the messy king. I'd feel sorry for Arwen though because she would most likely choose the husband over the clean house! :rolling:

What do you think we can do to make this club better and attract more memebers?

Well, I think the Christmas party was a good way of attracting more people, as also non-members posted there. But unfortunately, they didn't join and the older members didn't come back as well.
I've got the same problems with my William Shakespeare Club. At the beginning there were quite many members, but step by step it became less. Now nobody has posted there for quite a while...I don't really know what to do as well, but I think most of the smaller clubs have such problems..
Perhaps you could plan another event like the Christmas Party to get back the older members (sending invitations to each of them). Or you could start activities like the picture hunt we had some time ago with an award or something for the person who searched the best pic.
Another way could be that you PM those people who post in Aragorn- related threads in other parts of the forum and ask them if they wish to join, but I don't know if that would be „advertising“ and thus is not allowed...*thinks about more suggestions*

Good ideas, I esp. liked the ones about the party or an image hunt. I was thinking about a contest, maybe a banner or an avie one. What do you think?

Yeah, this would be great as well. Would you make the contest here in this thread, or in the Contest Section of the forum? Because if it's somewhere in the Contest part, you would have to draw some attention to this thread as well.
I would prefer the avvie contest, as it's perhaps easier for people who don't have any or not much experience with graphic-making to start with a smaller avvie than with a "huge" banner...

I was thinking about hodling it in the Contest Thread. Maybe we can do some planning. Like what should the avie feature and how big can it be?

I think it should have the normal avie size (100x100).
The question what it should feature is more difficult...Do you wish to have one single contest or a contest with different rounds?
If it should only be one round, you could just say that the avie must feauture Aragorn in some way or you could choose a particular pic that has to be used by all participants and can just be changed in colour, by using texts etc.
If you plan a contest with different rounds, you could say that the first round for example should only include avies that feauture Aragorn as Strider in FOTR, the next round only Aragorn pics from TTT, then Aragorn as Elessar and so on...
Just a few ideas that came to my mind...

I like the round. I was thinking of doing an Aragorn one, but with different facial expressions, like round one is smile, round two, war face and round three sad.

That's a great idea! I've never thought about it before, but I really like it. I think there hasn't been such a contest focusing on the facial expressions/ emotions of a character before- at least I haven't recognized it here.

Glad you like it. Know for dates... I was thinking from Jan. 30-Feb.12. A round could last a week.

Yeah, that would be okay. Then I can take part as well, because from February 19th onwards I'll have some very hard and important exams.
I mean, I don't know yet if I'll be able to take part in each round, as I've never made an avie and don't know how much time it will take, but I'll try to take part in all three rounds as long as learning doesn't nearly take the whole day. *looks forward to the contest*
