I'm not exactly a goth but I do fall a quarter-way into the category. I like to wear black and listen to depressing/rock songs. My friends think I'm emo because of the black =\

yeah my parents won't let me have my own identity they don't want me to be gothic tthey want me to be a girly girl*shudders* and whenever i talk about having my own identity all they say is "you need better friends"and Im like OMG it's not my friends fault this is who I am my parents are SOOO judgemental they see someone that is wearing black and automatically thinks they r bad ppl. I don't judge ppl and I get really Ped when they do so im just going to say 'I DON'T CARE' and wear what I want to.
also I'm a teen so I think I should be able to make my own decisions-isn't that what teens do???

lol. Yeah, that's what teens do.
My parents are the same way. My dad think it's my boyfriend's fault, but actually I started it and he's only started to wear darker clothing and seem more gothic because of me.
Try not to worry about it. I try to put my mind on other things because I know I can't do anything about it, but they can't change me either.

I understand where you're coming from. A couple of years ago I had really crappy friends who just decided to hate me, people were dying in my family, ect. I was kinda at an all time low. My mom wouldn't let me buy the clothes I wanted (I wanted a t-shirt that said rock n roll on it and she flipped out on me), wouldn't let me get the CDs I wanted (thank god for the internet!), ect. She was always making irritating comments about me looking so "goth". I got to the point where I don't care a long time ago, but it still irritates me. Ugh.

I joined this club so long ago, I totally forgot about it.  Anyway, I'm a closet goth. Like, I love black and darkness and all that great stuff, but my parents would never let me get away with it, and I know better than to fight them. So... yeah.

I've learned to deal with it. I don't really have a problem with beign a closet goth. And I personally love the phrase "closet goth."

Yeah, it's cool. I would have a problem with it though. I feel so awkward not wearing the clothes I like and the makeup. I feel like I'm wearing a mask or something.
