[I have two contending plot ideas at the moment... you have anything planned?]
With a blink, Ghyreian shook her head and snapped out of it. She matched Edwin's smirk with an icy smile of her own. Steeling herself once more, she followed him towards the Ruins.
If the Tsorthan Grove was still existent, the mental turmoil it could have inflicted was unconceivable. As it was, the grove itself had been razed by the mobs during Istar's tyranny. Thus, with their mental barriers firmly in place, they did manage to make it to the Ruins without further incident.
Stepping over the crumbled gates, the pair of them came to a stop at the base of the decrepit Tower of Losarcum. Walking up to the blasted doorway, Ghyreian felt a faint magical emanation and knew it to be a still operating ward. She began circling the tower's perimeter until she sensed a discordance in the weave. Frowning, she closed her eyes and felt around the ward, feeling for any traps that would trigger something altogether more devastating.

(Nothing really, just fill me in on your ideas and well see what can do)
Edwin gazed around with his staff hand extended forward to see, if there were any mechanical traps here all tough it was a once a mage tower it never meant that there was a possibility of other traps.
"I believe that this might be where it gets tricky... traps and only the gods know what..."
He said to Ghyreian, but mainly to himself as he was not sure what they would run into.

With a thrill of triumph Ghyreian grasped the invisible strand of magic and felt along its filament thread. Arriving at a knot in its integrity, she closed her eyes and began mentally tugging on it. "Trap compromised," she said at length, striding forward with no modicum of indulgence.
The invisible wall she collided with blasted her backwards to painfully encounter a convenient jutting of rock behind her. Cursing colorfully, she picked herself up and glared at the tower. Suddenly she froze, feeling a chill breath down her neck. She turned to meet eyes with...
A wraith. Shrouded in mist, the spirit floated before her, its sightless eyes pleadingly meeting her gaze. It raised a sepulchral arm to point at the tower, then at both mages.
"I believe it wants us to enter the tower," she observed dryly.

Edwin was slightly taken back by the appearance of the wraith yet stepped forward with his own suspicions raising to his mind and then spitting out of his mouth.
"I thought wraiths had a habit of guarding places like these unless they are specifically ordered to assist someone or lead them in like in our case.... so I ponder, if anyone is in there already?"
Edwin asked before taking few steps forward towards the tower that the wraiths hand pointed at.

"By Nuitari's grace, I hope not," Ghyreian fervently prayed, gazing up at the tower with no modicum of apprehension. She added icily, "The tower is supposed to be unoccupied."
But apparently the spirit had other plans in mind, for it pointed once again at the tower door. A ripple of magic funneled from its misty finger. The warding magic Ghyreian had felt around the door simply dissolved.
Suspicion held her back, but the lure of unearthed secrets egged her on. Eyes shining with anticipation, she took a step forward and placed a hand on the door. It swung innocuously open at the slightest touch. Readying a spell, she ventured across the threshold. She entered a foyer of sorts, gray with age and lined with dusty spellbooks preserved by magic. Surprised, she glanced back at the spirit.
But it was gone.

Edwin quietly wandered in after Ghyreian, but never gave a second thought about the spirit that had appeared before them. He walked up to the spell books and ran his fingers across their surface as, if brushing the dust way or looking for some specific. He hmhed and gazed at Ghyreian.
"We might as well look around and take whatever we can"
He said before starting to run his fingers back across the book covers, looking for something interesting.

[mind if I skip a few scenes? btw I was reading through this and realized that my char's the biggest Mary Sue alive... sorry about everything I put you through]
A horde of zombies, keening and brandishing bone swords, was not a happy sight. Especially when that horde happened to be commanded by a death knight, an unholy entity that'd cheated death itself. In all rationality, the Tower of Losarcum was supposed to be abandoned. In all rationality, none of this made any sense.
The fickle Takhisis must be having the time of her life.
Propelled by a terror only the dead can inflict, the two mages stumbled through the tower dungeons, igniting torches in their path. The torchlight clearly marked their trail for any bloodthirsty zombies concerned. But more daunting than the undead was the penetrating darkness, the shroud of night that mantled these unforgiving corridors of stone.
Ghyreian reached an intersection in the corridors. She spun back around to erect a wall of flames that stalled their pursuers only for an instant. "Edwin!" she shouted over the fire's roar. "Which way?"
In the foyer above, Edwin had found a map of the lower dungeons. A crimson X on the map supposedly marked a chamber housing an artifact of supreme power. As soon as they'd entered the dungeons, the magic-reinforced doors had banged shut behind them. Now their last hope lay in finding this artifact and harnessing its power to destroy their enemies.
After all... dungeons... an undead knight... who would have guessed?

Edwin cursed as he scrambled the map so that he might actually make some sense out of it, it was not that he hadn`t kept track, but the map`s condition wasn`t all the admirable.
"This way, not much farther n..."
He briefly stated before rushing to the left from the intersection, but his words stopped coming out of his mouth as he gazed at the map again as they ran. He stared at the map and slightly slowed down his steps to make something out of the map, he thought they might have been there before or was it just the other one that they had passed trough? Truth be told, he wasn`t sure at all, but didn`t wish to reveal this to Ghyreian yet did point out a suspicious thing about it all.
"I don`t like this, why would anyone mark the place of the artifact with an x? Doesn`t it seem a little bit naive to create such a map under any circumstances, I would have expected more from any mage that would have sealed this place."

Ghyreian had to concede that Edwin had a point, and that perception made her pause long enough to get struck by an obsidian arrow. The shaft tore through her sleeve and shattered on impact, leaving an insalubrious gash from which blood sluggishly oozed. The wound didn't improve her mood.
"If you have a better idea, feel free," she replied. They careened around another corner.
Dead end.
The corridor led up to an obsidian door peppered with glowing runes. The door had no handle. In its place were three hovering orbs - white, red, black. Ghyreian drew closer, hand closing over the replica of Nuitari... The black orb flashed once. The door didn't budge. Just then, their undead pursuers rounded the same corner.
"Edwin! Lunitari!" She threw herself into the wall just as a volley of ebony arrows streaked past. In her mind she knew there was no escape. Solinari would bar the way, and as it were, they had no White Robe with them.

Edwin lunged against the obsidian door, pondering how the map had actually guided them there. Was it all a trap from the beginning and had the map been placed there by the undead perhaps? Whatever the case, Edwin placed his hand on the red rune of Lunitari and prayed that the two would be enough to let them pass. Yet as life had a devious way of turning out, they were one mage short of opening the door, a white mage that was and there didn`t seem to be any miracle that might have conjured one there right at that moment.
They could try to escape trough some other means, but teleportation spells in the caverns could only prove highly dangerous because they might teleport themselves inside the stone walls. Edwin cursed and cast a spell that raised a magical barrier between them and the undead, it would block the arrows yet bot the undead themselves. Edwin looked at Ghyreian as to what they should do next.
"We might pray for a miracle, we can stay here and fight until our deaths or we could go with the craziest plan of teleportation."

Option one was preposterous. Option two was merely stupid. And option three... Why not? "Crazy" had hardly deterred Edwin and her before. Provided their luck held, which, considering recent events, Ghyreian seriously doubted at the moment. An eternity trapped in stone didn't appeal to her, but what had they to lose?
"You cast the teleport," she said swiftly. "That way if it goes wrong, I'll still have someone to blame." No sooner had she finished the sentence than she was forced to erect another flaming wall. Instantly she launched into another spell - anything to keep the undead at bay.
Without warning, the fire extinguished itself. The corridor was plunged into inky darkness. A deathly chill permeated Ghyreian's marrow, freezing her spellcasting hands. Footsteps encased in steel thudded towards them. In the blackness she could distinguish two diabolical pinpricks, glowing vermilion. A single figure, lit by infernal fire, parted the zombie ranks.
Death knight. Lord of the Rose.
"Mages..." the undead creature intoned. "We rode from Istar with a holy storm at our backs. We burned this cursed tower down. Surrender to the might of Paladine!"

(I have an idea, unless you thought of this)
Edwin stumbled back and cursed at the appearance of the death knight, his spell casting had been interrupted and he merely hmphed at his words as he spoke of Paladine.
"Paladine? You call yourself a servant of Paladine all tough you yourself rot away in that form, hardly, your god wouldn`t wish to see you like that."
Paladine? Edwin thought quickly again and gazed back towards the door with his eyebrow briefly raised. White, black and red, whoever claimed they all solely symboled the three gods of magic? It might be a foolish idea, but it might be as foolish as the teleportation. Edwin gazed at Ghyreian and nodded towards the white symbol whispering at the same time "the third?" before starting to cast a teleport, just in case. He tried to arrange the spell to open a magical doorway far beyond the doors that they had once entered or at least near them. Hopefully they could get away trough it, if his another ridiculous idea fell trough.

[nope, I haven't. in any case I'm thinking this should somehow lead them back in time before the Cataclysm to catch up with Legends]
"Fool," Ghyreian whispered with a half-smile, shaking her head in admiration. Depend on a death knight to save them? Folly. But perhaps it was their only chance. In any case, Edwin's idea would either save them or condemn them both.
"Come here, then," she taunted at the death knight. She gave ground until she stood next to the hovering white orb. Dropping her hands to her spell pouches as though preparing to cast, she cried, "Come taste the vengeance of Nuitari!"
The knight drew forth his flaming mace. He took a thunderous step forward, then another. Within the blink of an eye he was gone. Eyes widening, Ghyreian cast desperately about. Then she felt the chill breath rattling down her neck. She spun around to come face to face with those terrible vermilion pupils.
"Nuitari," the death knight sneered, and grasped her head in one gauntleted fist. The pain was exquisite. Her skull bursting, Ghyreian opened her mouth in a silent scream. The undead creature took another step...
... and passed through the white orb.
Another flash of light, and the rune-etched door swung open.

Edwin smirked in relief as she was able to fool the knight into opening the door and thus it rendered the portal useless. Edwin closed the portal and ran trough into the next room that opened, he gazed back and tried to close the door behind them as Ghyreian had entered. They might be able to close the zombies outside, but there was no guarantees that it would keep the death knight at bay. Soon enough the door slammed shut and Edwin gazed around for a closer inspection of the area they had entered.
It seemed rather odd, there wasn`t much of anything really. Just few items laying here and there, but there was something there, Edwin could sense raw power emanating from the room. Now they only needed to find the source and hope that it would lead them out of the place.

Ghyreian slumped against the wall to catch her breath. Once the agonizing pounding in her skull had abated, she opened her eyes. The room may have once been some archmage's laboratory. Now it lay derelict, the few items present sown across the stone floor. She crossed the chamber, hoping to find some hidden trapdoor that would lead to the true power.
Disappointment. They'd come all this way... for this?
Keening wails echoed through the door. Something heavy impacted it. Not long now.
Angrily Ghyreian kicked the nearest object. It went skidding across the floor to smash, still intact, against the opposite wall. The air vibrated where it passed. What in the abyss... She went over to pick it up. A small brass mirror, its edges cracked but its glass still intact. It was warm. Intrigued, she gazed into the glass. Misty apparitions flitted across its smooth surface. She turned it over and found engraved on the back:
To my loving wife. - Wylliam Hammerhand, Knight of the Rose
