Lahiriel cantered her ivory-white mare Terithuil about, surveying the others with interest as she awaited the others.

Leu selected a grey gelding for himself and bridled the horse quickly, though he used no saddle, preffering bareback. He mounted, then helped Fhina up, allowing her to sit in front of him, then trotted after the others.

((I don't have a good excuse Thought I was checking here pretty regularly but I seem to have missed this one somehow. Likely just me being careless. Anyway, deepest apologies, I'm back))

Ilberic clambered aboard his pony, quite a feat in itself as he could only remember ever once being actually astride the placid beast, and dug his heels into its round sides experimentally. Bill ambled forward a few steps and halted, nibbling at a few blades of grass that poked up through the cobblestones. Ilberic left off trying with an air of sheepishness, and hoped that Bill would perhaps be more cooperative once they were moving. However, the instant he relaxed the pony instantly bounced into an uncomfortable trot and before the hobbit could grasp frantically at his reins they were out the gate - a slightly more inauspicious start to the journey than he had hoped.

Fhina, seeming undaugnted by the fact that she and Ilberic were strangers, leaned over in the saddle and smiled friendly. "Afternoon, lad," she said cheerily, "It's nice to see another hobbit after two years away from home. M'name's Fhina Glassburough. You?"

Unsatisfied with her mount's warm up, Lahiriel rode out of the gate of the courtyard and on to the road where she circled the mare numerous times. She smiled with mirth as she noticed Ilberic bouncing awkwardly on the back of his pony. Glancing at the energetic Terithuil beneath her, she sighed. She longed to begin.

Dark smiled slightly at Ilberic's predicament. Without any seeming provocation, Chonara cantered out of the stable, following behind Ilberic and Bill, Chonara nickered slightly, as if she was laughing at the pony's rider.

"I-I-Ilberic B-B-Brandybuck," stuttered the hobbit as he was bounced energetically up and down, snatching frantically for the reins. Rescuing himself from tipping off sideways, he grinned sheepishly. "Y'might know my cousin, Merry. 'E's my second cousin, actually."

Lahiriel could not help the smile that spread over her lips, listening to Ilberic's choppy speech.
