this all just goes to prove my point - sport is seriously bad for your health. this is why i avoid it as much as possible. well, that and sheer laziness!

That injury sounds painful... how long did it take to recover?

Yeah. Also known as the North Atlantic Drift. Basically, it's a load of warm weather and water dragged across the North Atlantic from the Gulf of Mexico. It's often wet too though, but without it, we would be in such a green and pleasant land :D

And it was painful. Very painful. No idea how long it took to recover. Perhaps I could have been back playing in a couple of months, but I played it safe, and took the rest of the season off. If I have any advice for anyone, it's avoid popping your groin. Excrutiating! (Basically, the muscle 'popped' out of its connection with my pelvis. I felt and heard the pop. :explode: )

... ow. lol, what else is there to say? That's GOT to hurt.
I, fortunately haven't had a serious sporting injury, but there's always the sprained finger or two and a few grazes... ( i played netball :P) but now [whining] I can't play any sport because of my arthritis-ed knee. I hate it. It stops me from doing everything. I can't even ride a bike anymore :( Walking around the shops is worth two days of pain afterwards...

Jeez, I complain a lot. Sorry... [/whining] :P

Ugh, I don't fancy sport injuries either. One time my brother and I were running and there was like a curve. And normally I'm good with turning while running but for some reason, I slipped and landed on the asphalt. Like both knees and elbows were bleeding and one of the knee doesn't look too good even though it's been six months since that happened.

eek! that sounds nasty. not being the sporting type, my worst injuries are all drama-related - my record is 27 bruises in one play. however, still not as impressive as my friend giving some a nosebleed in the middle of a play by kneeing him in the face while doing a gollum-style leap onto his back.

about two months ago I fell off a trampolin (about 1,50 m high) in our sports lesson and hit the floor with my chin first. I had a laceration and a concussion but nothing else happened.(I just have this ugly scar on my chin^^) I thank god he protected me, I could have broken my neck or something like that.
two weeks later a friend broke his thigh in the sports lesson.
Our sports lessons are kinda dangerous, I guess :D

Ouch...that sounds nasty. I've never really had any dramatic injuries, just the usual falling-down-stairs, sports-related, horse-riding ones.

On a football note...David Beckham is going to America...if that means anything to anyone.

^He is actually going to Hollywood, of course, of all places!!! Officially he wants to promote football in America... since they don't have many great clubs compared to European clubs, so I guess he is not there for the competition and the whatevertheLeagueiscalled - and he is going to be the best paid football player in the world!!

(Well, I'm not a Brit, but shame on you for page three...er... *coughcough*)

it is ridiculous how much footballers get paid nowadays. my grandad was a professional footballer back in the 1950s, and they were paid so little they all had to do other jobs as well, but it's all got stupid now.

They're just like celebrities, which makes the fact they get paid so much even worse...

they shouldn't get this much for things they do because they have fun doing it. I mean, maybe it's not easy to be a professional football player, but I don't think it's harder than to work in a factory everyday. at least it's not thousand times harder. it's just not fair !
