The first time I ever saw LOTR was with my friend Catherine. All three EEs, in a row...took us till 3:30 AM. It was awesome. I want to do it again sometime!

I've never tried it, for fear of never being able to walk again after being confined to a chair for that long.
But if you have, what was it like? Did you actually get sick of seeing Viggo's face plastered to the screen for half the day (is that even possible?) Is your butt thawed yet? Did you even enjoy the movies?
I've done it, I loved it, and I hope to do it again sometime soon! I didn't sit in one spot all day; I got up and moved around, plus I had to eat, and there were bathroom breaks.
I absolutely enjoyed the movies. It is the best way, I think, to see the entrie story all at once, since they movies are really three parts of one whole.
It's a lot like eating an entire carton of ice cream; very sweet and enjoyable, but you really shouldn't do it very often.

No I haven't.. I haven't got the EE's i've only seen FotR extended, wich was great.. I'll borrow my aunt's EE's and then I'll watch them in a row..
I did try and watch the three 'regular' movies, but then my parents forced me to come downstairs.. I was só angry.. but I'll try again

I had my fourth EE marathon over Christmas. The films only get better and better each time! Also when watching them back to back it definitely feels like one gigantic film rather than three parts!

Yup, I've done it a couple of times with a friend. It's become sort of a Christmas tradition, because we don't see each other so often. I really like the EE's and when watching the theatrical version it's like something's missing, except for RotK. I might like the original version of RotK a tiny bit better *whispers* because it's shorter... there is too much suffering and hardship in RotK EE, and there are a few scenes I'm almost annoyed with...
Anyway, I'm going to see a LotR marathon with the original movies. It's an all-night event in the biggest movie theater around here and I'm quite excited to seen them again on the big screen!
