Lol, that's fine, Meldawen. I figured we'd start tommorrow (or at least, tommorrow my time) at the earliest...it'd give you all more time to spend making your bios cooler. :)

Hey, is my character ok? Because I didn't want him to be like god or something.

Yeah, your character is okay, Caunion. Just make sure he doesn't kill his enemies too fast--Laude might be able to dodge, Human armor might be able to deflect, Kor'daera might be able to cast a spell to destroy the bullets, and other Bekarans have their own various modifications.

I can't make my opening post quite yet, but I should be able to do it in a few hours (I have my Adv. Biology class in a few minutes).

EDIT: w00t. I am now back from class, and can thus make my intro post.

------------

The city of Kor'da'this was the capitol of the Kor'daera, and one of the greatest on the world of Adaris. Indeed, it was the greatest on this world of Adaris, but connected to this Adaris at various spots--called Archways--were three other Adarises. They all had the same terrain, more or less, with the same mountains and forests in the same places, but on each lived races far different from the Kor'daera. These races built their own cities in their own places, lived their own lives on their own world, and developed their own culture.

Kor'da'this was, perhaps, the greatest city of Adaris, yet it was rivalled by Djedeka of the Bekaran, with its tall skyscrapers and strange flying vehicles; and by Melanoth of the Laude, with its simple and natural architecture making it seem as though it grew out of the ground. Maybe Kor'da'this was rivalled by a city in the Fourth dimension, but whatever grisly place that was, none could consider it beautiful, as the others were considered.

Kor'da'this was a city of magic. It was built from stone and wood, true enough, yet there were beautiful designs and sights that could not have been built by a race less magical than the Kor'daera. At night, the sky was softly lit with soothing and ethereal lights, and in the day, the buildings seemed to amplify the sunlight, resulting in a city of light, even on dark nights or cloudy days.

In the center of this grand city, tall spires seemed to stretch towards the sky from a palace. The white and green adornments informed all Kor'daera that this was the Royal home, where the Archmage of Kor'daer ruled over his subjects. At the moment, though, its stables were crowded with horses, and its rooms were crowded with people of all races. Among them stood Feyl'agran, Mage of the Kael'aghad sect of the Kol'mari clan, with his brown and red robes pressed against him by the crowd of people attempting to do the same as he was--leave the audience chamber. Out of all of them, though, only a few were going to the same place he was--the Kanthos Hall, where he would meet those heroes and champions with him he would be journeying. Behind him stalked his human Guardian, Dorlan, with his tall, enchanted warhammer swinging in his grip. That man never seemed to have any trouble getting through crowds.

Feyl'agran--to his friends, Feyl--finally made it through the press of people, and opened a side door out of the hall. The doors were all made to be light, so his physically weak people could open them without any trouble. Races that were naturally strong, such as the Laude, had been known to pull the doors off of their hinges, not realizing beforehand just how light they were.

Feyl lifted a blue-glowing lantern off of the wall and walked down the dark passageway, the paths ahead illuminated by the enchanted light.

One, two, three, Feyl counted as he passed doors on either side of him. At the fourth door, he exited the passageway into a corridor filled with sunlight from the wide windows on the side--no glass was there to refract the light, only a clear magical barrier to stop wind, rain, and dust from getting through. He ignored the panoramic view of the city, instead opening the next door he came to--the Kanthos Hall. It was much smaller than normal for a Hall, yet still bigger than most rooms in the palace, with a long table stretching down the middle. He leaned his staff against the wall and poured himself a glass of wine from a conveniently placed pitcher. Dorlan entered behind him, but kept his warhammer nearby. In Feyl's opinion, the Guardian was entirely too protective, but it had saved their lives several times.

Sitting down in a cushioned chair, Feyl waited for the arrival of his soon-to-be companions. They had been given directions, and he had been told they would meet him here.

(tell me if theres anything wrong with my opening post :P)

Alex forced himself through the crowd of people travelling in the opposite direction to him. He had'nt expected so many people to arrive, but pushing through was no problem to him, he was clad from head to toe in strong enchanted armor, and a gleaming silver longsword hung in its sheathe from alex's belt. He was nervous, as any guardian would be when they meet their new masters. He pushed through the last of the doors, and stepped into the comfortable room where he would be meeting his new master, and his companions.

(Meldawen, the new master is you ok?)

Marvilan gazed around him as he made his way towards a room inside a building in a city that he had never heard of. The city itself was wonderful but nothing like his home city, Djedeka. Marvilan walked through the four doors, like instructed. He found himself in a comfortable room where a Kor'daeran and a human awaited him.

((Okey dokey))

There was a small scuffle in the press of the crowd, a disturbance not visible over the heads of many onlookers. An indignant high-pitched voice, carrying shrilly even in the din of many conversations, was demanding something back - and by the sound of a sudden yelp of pain, she'd gotten it.

Minutes later, Gwyria hmphed to herself as she stalked down the corridor to the Kanthos Hall. The tiniest of tiny daggers was tucked back into her thick braid of vibrant hair, consistent with the general theme that hung about the diminutive Kor'daeran - small but deadly. The money pouch, cause of Gwyria's scowl and her very recent altercation with a pickpocket, was safely in the pocket of her tunic. Her scowl deepened. Even a day without a Guardian and already she was a target.

Sweeping with an air of indifferent breezy confidence into the Hall, Gwyria took in the inhabitants with one glance. "Looking for a human - er - " and here she consulted a scrap of parchment with a preoccupied air, "one Alex?"

((just a side note, I could take another character if you need/want me to!))

Down one hallway, the crowds seemed to part as Eshtok made his way towards the meeting room. He received a few disdainful looks from people, even as they moved for the Laude. The fact that he stood half a head taller than most of them helped to clear the halls, as did the long dagger sheathed at his waist.

Eshtok ignored their looks as he strode on. Soon he reached the meeting room and pulled open the door firmly. He managed to avoid breaking it, though, having been cautioned about the fragile door ahead of time.

He glanced around as he walked in, taking in the few people already in the room. Without saying anything, he sat down at the table and waited.

Dai'rik walked through the rather confusing halls, and soon found the passage he was looking for. Walking calmly into Kanthos Hall, his bow and arrows strapped to his back. And, on this rare occation, he was wearing a light grey rather than black. Sitting down in a chair, he did not say a word, but looked at each person with a keen eye. His back was almost completely straight, even while sitting down, and his angular face looked around causiously. He then looked over at the woman who had just spoken, waiting for an answer to her question.

Miniya pushed through the crowd, creating a passage for Xaviera. The two of them were supposed to meet a group of other people. Xaviera opened the door and they walked in. There was already an assembly of people there, so they silently joined them.

"You couldn't have checked?" the human Guardian demanded, one hand dragging his ward along, the other hand drifting to the hilt of his sabre as was customary habit when agitated.

Tugged unceremoniously through the throng of people, Aedhon could only evince a helpless shrug before inadvertently bumping into a haughty noblewoman and sending his armload of spellbooks scattering. "A thousand apologies," he managed to stutter out, dropping to his knees to scoop up his mess -

- and having his lanky frame bowled over once again by yet another passerby.

With a frozen scowl that could have curdled milk, Garex stooped to help his ward gather the spellbooks, all the while muttering under his breath, "Remind me again the possibilities of accidentally walking into an archmage's laboratory and disrupting his potent spell of the day - "

Aedhon recalled once again how, with his nose stuck in a book, he'd accidentally opened the wrong door on the way here, walked straight into the middle of the room, disrupted a pentagram, and sent a fully fledged banshee loose in the laboratory of an exceptionally powerful superior.

The dour-faced Guardian seized the right door and yanked it open - nearly unhinging it in the process - and shoved his disconcerted Kor'daera into the Kanthos Hall.

Marvilan eyed each person closely as they came through the door. They were armed with extraordinarily historic weapons and clothed historic clothing. "How were they supposed to stop this giant threat with wooden staves and swords?" Marvilan thought. He then shrugged and thought, "Typical primitives. Doesn't seem to want to advance."

Karina moved in and out of the press of people. The city was magnificant. She clutched the small piece of paper that had the directions to the palace. Karina didn't want to be late so she pushed her way further into the crowds, quickening her pace. When she finally reached the palace, Karina straightened her light blue tunic that fell 2 inches above her knees. She wore dark blue calf-length leggings and dark brown leather shoes. Across her petite hips was a strong leather belt, carrying a hilt with her long sword. She placed her hand on the pommel. Her short brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Karina stepped inside and followed the directions to the room. She straightened her posture and pushed open the door.

One by one, Feyl's companions entered the room, and he couldn't stop himself from sighing. Judging by the imperialistic air of the Guardian-less female Kor'daera, and the seemingly overwhelmed male Kor'daera--the one being dragged in by his Guardian--this task could end up being very difficult. Only the Bekaran had a sober air that implied that he knew what was at stake, and yet he seemed to look with disdain on the others who were to accompany them.

Waiting patiently for the others to be seated, Feyl stood. Noticing that he was still smaller than the sitting Laude, he stepped up onto his chair, swaying on it for an instant before he caught his balance. Dorlan moved up beside him though, just in case.

"You all know why you are here," Feyl said, cringing a little as the acoustics of the room amplified his words and sent them booming back. "A fourth Archway was opened some time ago, and while I won't go into detail about it, suffice it to know that the Gohl, by abandoning their corporeal forms, can from time to time pass through the Archway, and then possess someone on this side. We must stop them, before they possess a Kor'daera powerful enough to open the Archway all the way. If they do that, nothing in the world could stop them. We can stop them before, however, if we can close the Archway. That is the key. Countless members of our respective species are journeying out to battle the Gohl-possessed beings who are being used to defend the Archway from our attempts. They will, hopefully, be sufficient force enough that we can slip past. With our small numbers, we could not long survive a pitched battle."

Feyl paused, drawing a deep breath of air, before continuing. "While I know how strong the bonds of friendship can be," he said, "I caution you to not let them grow too great among this...band, for should any of us become possessed, he needs to be killed instantly, lest he--or she--attack us first, free from remorse and regret. Most of all I should be killed if I am possessed, for if I am, Adaris is lost."

He glanced around the room, meeting their gazes, hoping to see some sign of belief in their cause. If he alone knew the risk, it was far more likely that they would all become possessed before long.

As he stepped down from his stool, he said just one more thing. "We leave tommorrow at daybreak."
