One of the Jedi Masters, a Kiffu, turned to face him with a sad expression on his face.

"Master Gara'tur has been murdered, young Padawan."

K'yahn blanched--he had never particularly liked Master Gara'tur, but the man had been skilled. For someone to murder him...

"Do you know who did it?" he asked uncertainly. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know the answer.

The Master had slipped back into a composed expression, and now watched him carefully.

"I cannot, at this point, tell you more until I have informed the Council," he said.

K'yahn nodded. It made sense, after all. The Jedi Master shouldn't tell him until after the Council knew.

"Thank you, Master," he said, bowing and walking away. He would go to the Room of a Thousand Fountains--that was where Naru probably was, since he could sense her presence somewhere in that area.

((I was hoping to wait for SG so that I could post for everyone))

((AH! So sorry... Ugh. School. Ick.))

Yoda rubbed his chin thoughtfully, his cane resting under his opposite hand.

"Dangerous this is, Master Regarn. Great care we must take with the young Ziatan. Follow him we must, though very careful we must be." With this he got up, and even before seeing the Padawan, called out to K'yahn.

"Hello, young K'yahn." he said simply, not feeling the need to saying anything more at the moment.

K'yahn bowed at the waist. "Master Yoda," he greeted the exalted Master. "I do not know whether or not the Healers have informed you yet, but there is a situation in Section 29-Alpha which you will want to review as soon as possible. More than that I cannot say, because I was told the news should not be spread near the ears of other Padawans."

He saw Naru standing behind Yoda and gave her a brief smile before slipping back into his somber expression. The two Jedi Masters and the other two Padawans had too-somber expressions as well, and there was no way they could've heard what happened at the other end, yet, unless one of the Healers had broadcasted it over a comlink. What was going on?

"Thank you, Padawan K'yahn." Yoda paused, and looked back at Regarn and Naru for a brief second, for no apparent purpose. "Have you any information of Master Mek, K'yahn?" He asked, looking intently at the young man.

"No, Master Yoda," K'yahn said, his lack of understanding of the situation making itself even more apparent. He hated it when that happened. "Has something happened that involved her, then?" he asked.

The grim faces of the others were all the verification he needed. "What is going on?" he asked, starting to realize that this might be more than just the not-so-simple murder it had looked to be at first. It never crossed his mind that maybe Master Mek was the murderer--she was Naru's Master, and he had known them both for years.

When Master Yoda did not speak, Naru stepped over to K'yahn and started to explain,

"Earlier, Master Mek told me that she was going to be spending the morning meditating in our chambers, and, to give her some silence, I left. When I was sparring with the other padawans in the training wing, I felt a disturbance in the force," she looked around "as did everyone else. I went to ask Master Mek, and she wasn't there. Then I went to go and find help. I found Master Regarn and Valinn, and soon after that could not sense Master Mek anymore." The confusion and slight dread was evident in her voice, however much she wished it to leave. "And... Here we are."

"I and any who will join me, Master Mek," Ziatan replied shortly. "My dreams were of slaughter, not purging. Slaughter suggests mindless, indiscriminatory killing, leaving none alive. Purging is merely the removal of the weak and blind, enabling those who are strong enough to rebuild as a far better Order. One that can rise up and defeat the Sith before their power spreads. Surely you must see this!"

Valinn looked to his master for permission before speaking. "As I said, I felt the disturbance coming from a nearby training room, but I didn't do more than glance around the room for trouble....Perhaps a more thorough inspection of the room might shed some light on the situation?" he ventured hesitantly.

"I see," Tynira replied slowly, "that you are trying to solve a problem." She paused to arrange her thoughts, feeling the absence of the Force quite keenly. The clarity and tranquillity that it had always lent her were gone, leaving her to wade through a mass of uncertainties. "First, brother, you must ascertain that a problem truly exists. You base all on the premise of the Sith still surviving, and they are gone. You need proof of your problem. But, even if they were in existence, a purging of the Order is not the way of the Jedi. We do not reject the weak and blind, but help them to become stronger and to see. This 'purging' begins to sound like Sith philosophy - do not become that which you seek to destroy, Ziatan. At best, your idea rings of imperialism." Her voice started to rasp - her throat was getting dry.

"You seek change, but perhaps, before changing the Order, you should search your heart and change yourself. Might I trouble you for a drink of water, younger brother?"

K'yahn nodded slowly. "So Master Mek is gone," he said, unsure of what to think. If Master Gara'tur was dead, and nobody could sense Master Mek anymore, did that mean that she had killed him and masked her presence? Or did it mean that she too had been killed by an as-of-yet undetermined enemy?

"I think that maybe Master Regarn could go and investigate the training room, while Master Yoda could go to the Healers, and then both things could be done," he suggested. What he himself would do, he had no idea. Maybe he would go with Master Regarn and Valinn--perhaps seeing the spot where the Mek disturbance had been felt would enlighten him on the matter.

I think it's been kind of dying, considering we need SG for a lot of the stuff, and she keeps forgetting about it. You and PotR have been doing an admirable job of keeping it alive, though.

"Yes... Investigate we will, but careful we must be. Go to the training rooms you will, Master Regarn. Vallin, K'yahn, Naru. Continue your regular training today... Tell anyone of this do not."
