fiddle and bagpipes sound awesome. Celtic Woman's Mairead is awesome! (she plays the fiddle)

I'd say Enya's Celtic... maybe partly because I know her older sister (Moya Brennan) doesn't like her own music to be counted as new age. I'm not denying the new age-ish, but I'd still definately say Enya's Celtic.
I really like Loreena McKennitt, Moya (or Maire) Brennan, Clannad (the family band Moya Brennan is in), Enya, the songs on the Celtic Woman CD (various female Celtic artists, not to be confused with the group Celtic Woman)... I wouldn't count Sarah McLachlan as celtic, but I saw someone earlier in the thread mention her and I like her too.
I don't like all of Celtic Woman's stuff (not that I have heard much) but I do really like a few of their songs.
NOTE: found an earlier Celtic music thread on the forum HERE...but as it's not a poll I guess I'll leave this one open.

I know absolutely nothing about Celtic music, but we have this history teacher at my school who's very Irish. In his study halls, he plays Celtic music while we work. Nothing with words, just the melodies. And I really like it. I think I may actually want to get a random CD of Celtic music and put in on while I do my homework or something.
Sorry. Sort of random. It just made me think about it. I'll let people who actually know what they're talking about proceed.

Well, I don't know that much about it either. I just know it's Irish, good, and I love it!

I think Celtic and folk music is the same; Celtic music is Irish folk music

I'd say more the latter, but probably a bit of both. I don't know; you do get quite different styles of Celtic music, after all...

Oooh, Celtic music, I love it, I would agree with Henny and say the Coors are more folk than Celtic, However the song Silver Strand edges on being Celtic...Such a great song!
Ooh! Speaking of Loreena McKennitt, Montanabohemian and I are going to go see her live in May in Seattle!!! So exciting! I just bought the tickets today! Fweee!
