"I am sorry Paris..." She winced everytime the needle pierced his wound. It pained her to see her love in pain but this was the only way he could heal. "I sewed gowns when I was younger" She smiled and tried to keep herself distracted from the outside noises that she blamed herself for.

Paris distracted his mind from the needle piercing through his skin each time....he thought of his brother. "I pray that Hector is alive."
Talking to himself softly, he said, "He is a great warrior....he'll survive....he will come back to Troy again. I will see him again, won't I Helen?"

Helen finished off the stitches by tying the thread and cutting off the end so that the skin held shut. Then she wrapped his arms in white gauze, tying it tight to stop any swelling that would occur.
"Yes he will come back..." She said, though in truth with the men out there, she could only hope that the Trojans would come back

Paris shut his eyes in pain as the wound was bound tightly. He tried to bear it, but Paris had never felt a battle wound before....nor had he ever experienced anything like this....for you must remember he was a prince of Troy and always given the best treatment.
Looking down to his bandaged leg, he said, "Yes, Hector will come back, my love."
Grabbing her arm, he pulled her close to him and said, "Thank you for mending my wound. Indeed you are a gift from above."

Helen moved her hand gently back and forth over the wrapped leg sighin how much this war would affect Troy and the princes of it. She only hoped that Hector returned home to his wife, child, and brother.
"I am no such thing" She blushed as she rested her head agaisnt his shoulder, lying down next to him.

Paris shushed Helen, "Yes, you are. You are the most wonderful thing a man could have in this worthless life."
Grabbing her hand, he held it tightly and then began to fall into a light sleep, "Helen, please awake me when it is almost late twilight...I must attend my father's meeting." With that, he shut his tired eyes and slept.

Helen smiled at him and kissed his temple before the other fell asleep. Not leaving his arms she stayed up listening to the raging war goin on outside the walls. Soon though it dissapated into a mere whisper in the wind. For tonight the battle was over.

Paris awoke with gasp. He lept up from his sleeping position and sat up straight with his hair soaking wet. Wincing from the shooting pain in his newly mended leg, he wiped back tears that had somehow slipped from his eyes.
Trying to calm himself, he turned to Helen and said, "Yes....?"

Her heart broke at the way Paris awoke, his body was full of sweat and his hair damp. She ran a hand through his locks to calm him and kissed his cheek.

Paris sighed and shut his eyes slowly. With his chest still rising at an abnormal breathing pace, he swallowed hard as he said to himself, "It was only a dream.....just a dream.....a nightmare...."
He then swung his legs over the side of the bed and tried to stand, but then immediately gasped, and sat back down. Grabbing his injured leg, he sat still in pain for a moment.

"Paris you cannot possibly walk like this. Shall I come with you?" She was worried that her love would harm himself more by trying to walk to his father's meeting. Paris was in no condition to show up right now, he looked tired, withdrawn and his was sweaty from the nightmare.

Pushing himself once more off the bed, he toppled to his right but caught himself on a wall. "I will go alone."
