Here are the walls that I built for you,
Here are the bridges I burnt for you.
Here is the darkness where I hid for you,
Here are the things I did for you.
I broke my heart to make you whole,
I broke me spirit to save your soul.
I entered bondage to set you free,
I closed my eyes so you could see.
Here are the words I said for you,
Here are the pools I bled for you.
Here are the people I shunned for you,
All these things I've done for you.
I cut my throat to save your life,
I gave you my throat to sharpen your knife.
I blocked the sun to shade your face,
I hugged myself to feel your embrace.
I cant tear down the walls I built for you,
I can't rebuild the bridges I burnt for you.
Theres no light in the darkness where I hid for you,
I can't regret the things I did for you.
I can't take back the words I said for you,
I can't regain the blood I bled for you.
I can't accept the people I shunned for you,
I can't regret the things I've done for you.
So I ask you now, my shining sun, where is this jewel that you pledge?
I ask you now, darkened one, how sharp is this jewel's edge?
So I ask you now, my sparkling star, where is this gem you promised me?
I ask you now, blackened tar, so we can spend eternity.

I love it, Jax!! This is one of the best you've done in awhile (which is REALLY saying something ). I don't know what it is about this one that stands out so much for me, but I really like it. Just curious- did you have a particular inspiration for it??
Like I said, very nicely done!!

Thanks.
Really, I am basically talking about myself.
All my life I have built walls burnd bridges and all that stuff because I am nervious around other people or Iwant tobe alone, or I am depressed...
But in the end I am depressed because I am lonely... lol so it's kind of a sycle that I keep going through and I seem to expect something to come up toheal it.
It's kind of like I'm holding out for something special before I open up to anyone. *shrugs*

Wow- creepy. I think I've said what you said above about a million times before, word for word. Seriously- I'm EXACTLY the same way. EXACTLY. I just am scared to trust anyone for some reason, and I'm scared to open up and let anyone in. I think I'm getting a little bit better about it, but I still need a lot of improvement. It's good to know that there are other people out there who are the same way I am though.
I guess it's kind of like.... more than anything I want to be loved, and yet it's the thing I fear above all else. If that makes sense.

lol Well, I do feel sorry for you then.
But yeah, that's about sums it up. I want to be loved more than anything but fear it more than anything at the same time. *nods* I can understand that well

I'm happy that someone else feels the same way I do, then, and that I'm not the only one.

Thanks pip. Always appreciate you reading and commenting.
And yeah, it's not fun, and it is hard.
It would be cool to have friends like you guys in real life that I could talk to as well and just hang out with. I have wondered about that before just like the issue of being loved....
Honestly the only thing I could come up with is somehow.... it's better this way. Even though I may not think so I am where god wants me right now and in some unseen way it's the best place for me to be right now. *shrugs* (But as I am sure you know that doesn't always do much to comfort)

Not much to add on, except that I totally agree and must give you both one huge virtual hug. You guys are awesome- I don't know what I'd do without you.

Never heard it but I have heard of it. It is a thought provoking song in many ways.
