I love the way Tolkien describe her and what her character does in hte war of the ring... sorry for my mistake... i'm french !!!
That's quite common about thinking she was evil and then realizing that she is actually far from so. . . I felt the same way. It's just the scene when she reaches for the ring that casts a suspicious light on her . . . but after you see the rest of the movies, and especially after you read the books, you find out that she's far from being evil, and that she has great, seemingly unparalleled wisdom.
And Nerwen - we don't really care much about grammar and spelling mistakes - after all, I don't know any French so I shouldn't be the one to start complaining!:hug:

I realised after reading the books.... in fact when i first saw the movie i didn't really know what to think because at the begining i thought she was evil, then she helped them so i was really confused....

She was very mysterious to me in the book, but I liked her. Galadriel has a very powerful mind. I imagine characters in my head. In the movie, she was very pretty though. Ofcourse she was, it was portrayed by Cate Blanchett! I didn't think she was evil, because I understood her already.

Galadriel is pretty cool. She is wise and can read minds. I'd like that power!

When I first met Galadriel I liked her and felt about her basically the same way Gimli did when she showed herself to be above conflict with the Dwarves... in the movies I thought Cate Blanchett did a great job (though I love the EE of FotR much more than the theatrical for Lothlórien scenes; they cut out too much of that wonderful land and the audience didn't get to see it golden, only blue!) and the music really helped too! I love how PJ made her lachend (having that light in her eyes which signifies an Elf who has lived in the Blessed Realm, Aman). Also, Larael, you wanted to know her age? An account says she was born about 1362 of the Years of the Trees. It also says that the Years of the Trees lasted until 1495. So, she lived 133 Years of the Trees. 1 Valian Year is equal to 9.582 Years of the Sun, so that's actually 1274.406 years according to our reckoning! Then the First Age lasted around 583 years, and the Second 3441, and she lived in Middle-earth for 3021 years. So, when she was standing in the Grey Havens with Gandalf, Elrond, CÃrdan, and the Hobbits, she was about 8,319 years old. For comparison, Elrond would have been about 6,502 then.
Also, about the 'telepathy': Tolkien called it sanwë-latya (opening of thought) in his essay Ósanwë-centa. To read about telepathy and foresight in LotR, go to http://www.herenistarion.org/beyondtheshire/BTS10.html.
I found another quote actually in LotR supporting Elves talking telepathically to each other;
Quote: If any wanderer had chanced to pass, little would he have seen or heard, and it would have seemed to him only that he saw grey figures, carved in stone, memorials of forgotten things now lost in unpeopled lands. For they did not move or speak with mouth, looking from mind to mind; and only their shining eyes stirred and kindled as their thoughts went to and fro.
This was concerning the grey-cloaked people of Lórien.

In the film she on a few moments looks cold and angry but beauty ...
In the books she resembles very "good fairy" .
But in the film and books she is great character too

The first time I read "The Fellowship", I thought she was bad. But as I kept reading it turned out she was really good, faithful, wise and beautiful. She is the reason why I wanted to know more about the elves and about Lorien which I am currently reading about now in "The Simarillion".
