Hmm, well Cuivienen doesn't exist anymore and Middle-Earth looked different back then, but I think that it must've been beyond Rhûn, because it took them years just to get to the Misty Mountains.

Well.. yeah you're right. I should've written it doesn't exist on earth anymore..
Well if there's nothing else anyone wants to talk about we could be moving on the chapter Of Thingol and Melian

Eh, that chapter was okay. It wasn't as interesting as the previous and later ones, though. Melian and Thingol are cool, but their story isn't so interesting as later ones, like Beren and Lúthien.

Well yeah. It is a very short chapter as well. I always found it quite strange to imagine that Melian and Thingol stood still together in this forest for years. It sounds kinda weird to me

haha, yeah. Well Thingol must've got very lost in Melian's eyes then. I guess that's because she has the light of Valinor in them.. What I quite like about the chapter is the information we get of Melian and what she was like in Valinor.

Yeah, I see no reason not to.
This chapter--"Of Eldamar and the Princes of the Eldalië"--was another of the ones that's interesting only in finding out more about the division of the Eldar and such. Which means I found it to be pretty interesting, but not when compared to "Of Beren and Lúthien" and such.

well of course not but yeah it is pretty interesting because you find out how the Noldor, Vanyar and Teleri are different from each other and what they like and also how the Elves came to Valinor and how new groups of Elves developed because of that (like the Eglath). What I find cool, is that Osse obeys his lord's will even though he doesn't wanna do what Ulmo tells him to do and he seems to be a rather rebellious character in my opinion. Also there are things foreshadowed which will be important later on, e.g. that Yvanna made an image of Telperion for the Elves and that also the white tree of Númenor came from a seedling of that tree.

Lol, Fíriel. If you want to discuss this chapter more, that's fine with me.

Back again...
The Elves awoke on the East Shores of the inland sea of Helcar, just southwest of the Oracarni mountins. A fair bit east of Rhun. In the War of Wrath Helcar shrunk to two far smaller sea's - Rhun and Nurnen.
If you want to look at where They awoke and how Middle-earth changed with the ages see this link...
