Louy nodded to her friend, who sat down next to her (is that alright?). She waited for the teacher to come... but he didn't.
"hm... I don't even remember ever meeting the ID proffessor, yet. Do you, Emma?" she asked, grabbing her text book, and opening it. She flipped through the pages. Each chapter was on a different kind of dragon...

Professor made his appearance in the Identifying Dragons classroom and began to introduce himself. "Hello, I'm Mr. Sherkins. Or you can just call me the Professor. Your original teacher is currently very ill so I will be substituting him for this class only. Personally I find classes like these quite pointless but the headmaster believes it necessary."

Jacob scurried into class, hoping the teacher would otice his tardiness, or at least be sympathetic enough to let him be. He slid into a desk next to a girl that looked to be about his age.

Ecthilion looked around at the class and then to his wrist where his leather hung loose, he had his locker number written on it trying to remeber it. He was shaken from his thoughts as the proffeser enterd the room.

Emma glanced at the teacher, then back at Louisa. "No. He's ill. This is the substitute. I hear he's actually been to Egypt and Romania on a tour to see the dragons." she whispered with awe. "Of course, it was my sister who told me, and she's not particularly trustworthy."

Ecthlion once again looked at his locker combonation trying to drill the number into his head without success.

((um, hobo... I doudt there would be a test on the first day of school, just to let you know!))
Louy nodded to her friend. She listened to the substitute intensely.
"I wonder what dragon we're going to study first.... If we are studying them one at a time."

(I edited them... that should be good.) Ecthlion sighed and gave it up looking at the large number of books he had in front of him.

Nicholas sighed as he was woken from his semi sleep and sat slounching in his chair. He had to, unless he wanted to block the view of the person behind him with his rather tall frame. Groping around under his seat for his dragon ID book, he plopped the large hardback onto his desk with a loud thunk.

Isabelle's temper was coolling now that she had had a few minutes to relax. She hadn't really been late at all. Oh well, over-reacting was one of her downfalls that she had learned to live with. She put her ID book on her desk and flipped it open. Then she pulled out a sheet of paper and began doodling a large picture of a dragon on it.

Nicholas looked over at the red-headed girl next to him. But, unlike most boys, he actually wasn't looking at her. he was looking at the 'doodle' she was forming on the paper under her hand. After watching for a few seconds silently, he looked up to see that their subsitute was sorting out some papers and wasn't exactly paying attention to the conversations going on, so, he went ahead and commented:
"Nice dragon..." He said, still looking at the drawing, then, without waiting for a responce, pulled out a thin notebook stuffed in his backpack, tattered, stained, and pages sticking out everywhich way. Obviously, he used it alot. I like to draw too."

Edward slowly dug out his ID book and opened it up to the page they were starting on,nut instead of listening to the class he started writing words on a paper. He was writing stories of him and wars and dragons. After a while he had written seven pages.

"Ok," Professor began. "I'm going to take roll since I have no idea how you are." He began calling names out and checking their names as they declared their presence in various ways, some bizarre. As soon as he finished, he said, "Ok, well, let's begin. As you know, there are more than fifty species of dragons. They all have different scale colours, size, habitats, diet, reproduction, and behaviours. For example while the Nordic Leviathent can be tamed to pulling barges across seas and oceans, the Chinese Flying Dragon is often found wild and impossible to tame. Like I said, this class is something I consider pointless because I don't find the point of knowing what types of dragons there are. To me, all you need to know is that dragons exist, some of them are friendly to humans, most are neutral, and some are just plain wicked. The best advice I have is never approach a dragon. I don't care if it's an adult or an infant. But if I had to choose which to approach, it would be the adult. Mothers guard their young jealously and will not hesitate to violently act against those that she perceive a threat. I would also caution to never under any circumstances approach a dragon's nest for the said reason. In fact the only dragon that you should approach are those that you are in constant contact with, namely your and your classmates' dragons. That's it for the lesson. I'm not going to test you on this because the ultimate test is worth more than marks. You have the rest of the class off."

Emma blinked at the shortness of the lesson. "That was short." she whispered to Louisa.
