I think that it's sad that Tolkien never really continued the Bagginses bloodline...I mean i think that Frodo really did deserve to meet and marry someone...I think i sort of remember a female Hobbit named Angela that Frodo seemed close to. Am i right in this belief?
I do think that Frodo should have continued the Baggins bloodline, but then again I love the independance that Frodo has, which brings about a real quality to his character. I don't know...I'm torn.
What do you think?

Hmm. I never thought about that.
I suspect that when Frodo returned from his journey and all he didn't feel terribly inclined to marry. It'd probably be hard to share your life with someone who couldn't understand the most monumental thing that's happened to you. Sam's really the only one who understands at all.

Nienor, I think you've hit the nail right on the head. That's pretty much how I would've said it. I think he was just one of those people who were too independant to have anyone "special".
Frodos-Guide, I'm not sure what Angela you're talking about...sorry.

yeah I agree with what you guys said. After the journey Frodo had made he just didn't feel like marrying someone I guess. Also because most of the Hobbits didn't understand what Frodo had been through. And he didn't stay in the Shire for a long time after his return. If he had had a "girlfriend" before the War of the Ring then I'm sure she would've been mentioned. I can't remember any Hobbit called Angela who Frodo seemed to like.

Me neither. Also if Frodo had a girlfiend before the war she might've left him being away for so long
I just can't imagine Frodo having a girl. Sorry

yeah exactly. And if Frodo had had a girlfriend before the war I'm sure he wouldn't have left that likely. I think he would've tried not to go. I just can't imagine Frodo having a girlfriend

I think it's cool that Frodo was the last of his line. It seems fitting, somehow. I'm not sure exactly how, because I haven't exactly spent a ton of time thinking this through, but it does seem to fit.
And so far as I know, there was no hobbit named Angela that was ever associated with Frodo. Perhaps you're just thinking of something from a FanFic, then.

I don't think anyone except Sam, Merry, Pip, and Bilbo were really close to Frodo.

Well, there was Gandalf, too. He was pretty close to Frodo.

Right. Well, in that case, there weren't really any others.

yeah I thought about him too. I think he was pretty close to Frodo as well - before his journey. Maybe not afterwards..

Well he did not make the journey but I think the book says that he was one of Frodo's close friends beside the other three.

Well, I will be in the minority or rather non exsistent party here and say that I think that it would have been nice if Frodo had have been wed to some pretty little Hobbit woman or maybe even some woman from a different race. I think that it would have been nice if he could have had that special connection that Rose and Sam had and went on to have chilldren. I think that after all he went through that he deserved to have somebody to share his life with and to look after him and somebody who he could look after as well. Maybe they wouldn't understand each other's deeds or past perfectly all of the time but as the country song goes "not ever piece of the puzzle has to fit perfectly...". I think that he could have had a wonderful marriage with somebody who could love him for who he was and not care that she didn't understand what he did...so long as she understand why he did it...what kind of a person/hobbit that he was. You can undersand why somebody does something but not understand how it was done or what it was like to do that/go through that. For example....my mother comes from a divorced home and my father does not. Now the dirvorce tore my mother apart but my father had never had to go through that. He doesn't understand what that is like but he loves my mum non the less. He understands what kind of person she is and she understands him even though there are other things that he has went through also that she has never gone through and therfore doesn't understand. It still works out. So I think that if JFFT had written it that Frodo had a long wonderful marriage to some Hobbit girl and they had many beutiful chilldren...I could believe it 100%.
As for an Angela...I don't rember one. However in the family tress I think that there was an Angelica so that might be what you are thinking of. If not, I really don't know. Sorry.
