Could be, but I don't think that's the case. It's way too odd. It's good to incorporate him, but --- you can always do scenes for him to process evidence. It's not like they don't have -any- evidence to process for them in the lab. Run loads of DNA tests, etc. When Catherine was talking about how the DNA matched the bloody paper towels in the bathroom in the last episode, they could easily film him processing those.

If they wanted Hodges to have some characteristics and traits that are worth showing on screen, without an ulterior motive like being the MCSK ---- why didn't they start that earlier? Like....5th season? 6th?

NOOOO! I love Hodges! I'll be so upset if that's the case.

He's been slowly getting more screen time since his character first came on the show. What about that episode, I think it was the 5th season, were they had him out in the field helping them with a case? Just because he has a tiny bit of extra screen time doesn't mean he's a killer.

That's helping with the case though, the fact that he stands there and runs through a discussion and summary of observations with Grissom, that's just odd.

I know, Banana! I LOVE Hodges too, and I would love even if he is MCSK because right now, whoever's the MCSK, is GREAT in my books. What an excellent mastermind. I love those twisty, mind-numbing serial killers who make you THINK. Like Paul Milander from S1.

Heh I just watched the Paul Malander episodes the other day and I just ordered the season one dvds :D. Gotta love ebay lol.

I still don't want Hodges to be the killer because then he won't be on the show any more. Anyways he's always been following Grissom around and being annoyingly close when the CSI's are trying to do something in the lab.

Let's hope he's not and pretend it's Ecklie. [giggles]

I don't mean to rant but.... I dislike how Catherine was downsizing Warrick's, "She looks familiar."

Because I can understand her statement of how she used to always place a face with someone she knew, but the way she said it---- it felt like she was scoffing at him ---- like he was a new CSI because I'm pretty sure Warrick's not the kind of guy who relates dead people to people he's known. He grew up in a black neighborhood in Las Vegas, I think he has more experience with stuff and he certainly isn't new to CSI work.

I don't think Catherine took into consideration that perhaps he really DID know this girl or if she really didn't want him to know showgirls in a familiar level. :p

Excuse me while I rant:

ARGH as if I wasn't pissed off enough that I have to work from 9-12 tonight I'm going to miss CSI:. I don't care if I can watch it tomorrow, I want to watch it tonight lol. Argh this will be the second one I've missed...I think since I started watching it. Argh I'm so pissed off :explode: .

I've had one of "those" days.

^IT'S OKAY! Admittedly, I'd be the EXACT same way if I didn't have DVR. DVR = Love.

When I got home from work, I went straight to the TV and chilled.

This episode was excellent, the actual case itself wasn't.... great-great. Not MCSK-great or Grave Danger-great but, wow. All those side-lines, the connections.

++++ PLUSES
1) GREG SANDERS.
---------FINALLY!! A Greg-episode since Fannysmackin'. Man, do I love Greg. He's just SO adorable. That moment when he stands up for himself against Momma James. I < 3 Greggo.
2) HODGES in the field.
---------NOW, it's getting really difficult for me to decipher whether or not Hodges could or could not be the MCSK. I would love him either way but .... it's Hodges.... he's Mr. Prim & Proper, Mr. I-Can't-Sully-My-Hands. He couldn't... possibly be the MCSK. It doesn't match-up. I do wonder if there's an ulterior motive to why he's getting so much screentime though.
3) Drops
---------This has to be my favorite original, one-episode, character so far.... and it's in SEVENTH SEASON! He amused me SO much. He just has that charisma. I love how he and Nick "go way back".
4) Sofia Curtis
---------As much as I hate to admit this but she's really grown on me because of this episode. "That could be considered assault on an officer. Don't make this harder than it already is." She's so cool as a police officer. -Minus fake cop angst.
5) Brass
----------I think we see Brass's character evolve to catch up with all the young ganstas, but he's still old-school. I love him to death. I still can't get over Drops's comment, "Champs and I go way back like your hairline." <---- or something like that. xD I think even Brass was amused by that one.
6) Sara-Greg Friendship
----------This friendship roooooocks my socks off. It's just so great. They're like brother-sister. I love it.
7) Warrick
----------He's hot. ..... Yeah. Th-that's about it.

+++++CONS
1) The mother of Symone's best friend's reactions to all the news being broken to her. Poor woman, one second she's sobbing over the death of her own daughter that they think is her daughter but then Warrick tells her that they made a mistake and her daughter's not dead and she's all hallelujahing and then she finds out that the dead girl is her daughter's best friend and starts sobbing again. It's like a vicious circle.
2) No Archie. I don't care if there's no audio/visuals to process. IT'S ARCHIE.
3) Catherine's & Sara's conversation got cut out about the origami.
Script wrote:
SARA
Orgami? (sic)

CATHERINE
Cheap Las Vegas version, I guess. It's a form of paper folding.

SARA
Guy was hitting on your vic. Bet you there's a number inside.

Catherine carefully opens the stem of the paper rose to reveal..."Carey. 555.0179."

CATHERINE
You get one of these before?

SARA
Yeah. Guys are always giving me weird things.

4) No GSR. That's okay. We can't overload on GSR all the time.

I was shocked to see him on the field... But I like the dude :-D

She was sooo awesome in this episode. I think it's the first time I really like the character.

It was a good episode although no GSR in this one.

EEEE!!!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this episode. I love the lab rats, they're just awesome.

One thing)

WHERE DID THE WENDY/HODGES COME FROM?!

Great things:
--------- all the different cases. xD "Trust me, you don't want Greg's 419." Catherine's clown and Brass beating the stuffings out of him. Oh gawd. I <3 Brass.

--------- Grissom's autopsy with Doc Robbins. Absolutely. Freaking. Hilarious. I LOVE DOC ROBBINS.
Doc: "Nice work."
Grissom: "At least I tried, where were you?"
Doc: "I hate rats."
I have also renewed my love for Grissom.
Grissom: "It's just a rat. Why are you two in hazmat suits?"
Super Dave: "He made me." (gestures to Doc)

--------- Hodges. I love Hodges. Nothing, and I mean, nothing can make me hate him anymore. He's officially NOT the MCSK, and he just simply CAN'T BE. It's not sensible.

--------- Lab Rats: Archie, Henry, Mandy, Wendy, and Hodges. C'mon. Give it up for the lab rats.

--------- Discovery of the MSCK's aversion to BLEACH. How brilliant is that? Hodges rocks.

--------- Greg. Promptly very annoyed and, "Don't mess with me" attitude. :D

--------- Henry posting Warrick's picture up as himself. [rolls] xD Warrick < 3. Hooooottttiiiieeee.

--------- Wendy's close-target question and not even realizing it.
Wendy: "Hey Sara, is it true that the miniature cases have been keeping Grissom up at night?"
Sara: "...How would I know?"

--------- Luck Day Sequence. Rolls. On. The. Floor. Laughing. I was laughing throughout the ENTIRE thing. Ask my brother.

--------- Super Dave rolling in corpse with no head.
Grissom: "Where's the head?"
Super Dave: "Haven't found it yet. Day shift."
Grissom and Doc Robbins scoff.

YAY!! THE RETURN OF DAY-SHIFT JABS!! Man, it's starting to look a lot more like 1st-2nd season! :D

I give this episode a 10/10. I LOVED it. DEFINITELY MY TOP TEN.

^ Ditto

I especially loved the rat hunt - "I think he's on to us."

Definitely one of the best episodes we've had in a while.

This episode has thoroughly convinced me to get my butt off, polish off my hard-earned money and SPEND THEM ON CSI SEASONS. Preferably season 7 first and working my way down.

And then jumping from the earlier seasons, back to season 8 since they're doing season 8..

SQUEEEEEEEE. I'm just crazy excited.

All I can think about is this episode, can you guys imagine the bloopers for this episode? Oh my gosh. xD

Fantabulous quotes:

Grissom: "Catherine. A 415-B at the Ha Ha Ha."
Catherine: "What's the weapon? A taser, come on!"
Grissom: "An angry clown got p*ssed at some heckler with clogged arteries and caused a heart attack."
Catherine: "So Greggo gets a hit at a mob restaurant, I get a clown who can't take a joke?"
Grissom: "Trust me, you don't want Greg's 419."

Hodges: "Four people are dead. The killer is still out there. And you're mocking?"
Mandy: "I'm mocking <i>you</i>."

Henry: "I don't know. I have a lot of work to do."
Hodges: "And by work you mean IMing your Islandic penpal who think you look like Warrick Brown because that's the picture you posted."
Henry: "How?"
Hodges: "I just know."

Hodges: "It's not always what you look at that matters, it's what you see."
Henry: "That's.... Thoreau."
Hodges: "Oh, Is it?"

<i>Archie goes to sit down in Grissom's chair.</i>
Hodges: "Ah-ah-ah!"
Archie: "What?"
Hodges: "What are you doing?"
Archie: "Sitting."
Hodges: "No, no. You're tempting fate. You know how you should never try on someone else's engagement ring, hold the Oscar, use the excuse that your Grandmother died when she didn't?"
Mandy: "I'd tried on Suzy Quinn's diamond ring last year. Looked really good on her, and looked really terrible on me. I don't think emerald cut flatters my little taste. Will I ever marry?"
Henry (excited): "I'll marry you! Although you know my grandmother's still alive, she lives down in Boca. I don't know if you know this, but I am the Shuffle Board Champion of the Boca Surf and Sand. Lady-killer of the senior set."
Mandy: "Rock on, I can do an open marriage."
Hodges: "Why do you guys keep doing that?"
Mandy (innocently): "Do what?"
Archie: "Hodges. Relax man, I don't want to run the lab."

Grissom: "Where's his head, David?"
SuperDave: "They haven't found it yet."
Grissom: "(to Doc Robbins) Day shift."
Doc Robbins scoffs.

Grissom: "Uh-oh. He's got gas."
Doc Robbins: "Yeah, he's gonna be a stinker. You want a mask?"
Grissom: "No, I'm all right."
^Please, Grissom can handle any type of smell. He loves BUGS, for goodness sakes.

Doc Robbins: "Nice work."
Grissom: "At least I tried to get him, where were you?"
Doc Robbins: "I hate rats."
Grissom gives him strange look.

Hodges: "Okay."
Nick: ".... Nothin'?"
Hodges: ".... What?"
Nick: "Nothing at all? I mean, I'm all ready for Luscious Lucy Likey Lolitas Luby .... or somethin'."
Hodges: "Every man's not an end but a beginning. Today, I rise above."

Hodges: "I hand selected them with close consideration to group dynamics."
Wendy: "Well I can see that. I mean, it's you and your backup singers. It's Davey Hodges and the Lemons. You should take your act on the road."
Henry (from the other room; offscreen): "We can hear you."

Hodges: "You think you're too cool."
Wendy: "Oh my god, what are we, twelve?"
Hodges: "I dunno know, are we?"
Wendy: "I dunno know, are we?"

Grissom: "It's just a rat, fellas --- why are you wearing the hazmat gear?"
SuperDave (points to Doc Robbins): "He made me."
Doc Robbins (in a tangent): "It's a wild animal, covered with potentially bio-hazard material, WITH CLAWS! Rabies, scabies, AIDS, Hepatitis, I'm thinking this suit is a giant rubber glove."

Grissom: "I think he's onto us, Doc."

Henry: "Well, the victims don't have much in common. So I'm saying we go metaphoric. Hypocrisy."
Wendy: "Yeah, I get it. There's Izzy, the Vegan eating bacon. Penny, the cigarette smoking cancer patient. Ramundo, the church going adulterer. And Barbara, the over-medicated shrink."
Hodges: "Forget it. This is the United States of America, hypocrisy is the new national anthem."

Hodges: "What?"
Wendy: "That... was a very good idea."
Hodges: "Well, I have one occasionally."
Henry (nervous about the looks between Hodges & Wendy): ".... Okay."

Henry: "All the miniatures have food. Eggs, booze, tea, cookies, milk, and.... chicken."
Wendy: "But is it considered food if it's still alive and clucking... ?"
Henry: "Mmm, you've never lived in Pennsylvania."
Hodges: "I think if the killer is trying to make some kind of anti-food statement, there are much better places in Vegas to do it."
Henry: "Like blowing up a buffet."
Wendy: "Yeah. Gluttons eating crab-legs. That's exactly where I'd start."

Brass (shoving the clown against the glass door): "Who's the big clown now, huh?"

Henry: "What about music? Izzy had gold records. Penny had a record player. Barbara had high-end stereo equipment."
Hodges: "And what about the chicken plant?"
Henry: "... The squeals of dying chicken?"
Hodges: "No go, amigo."

Henry: "Okay, buzzkill. You come up with a theory."
Hodges: "Hey, it's not me. It's the chicken plant. That's the streak-breaker."

Grissom: "Can you smell that?"
Doc Robbins: "Yes."
Grissom: "You shouldn't be able to smell that through your suit."
Doc Robbins (wryly): "Good to know."

Wendy: "You freakin broke it! That's destroying evidence!"
Hodges (innocently): "I can fix it?"

Wendy: "Semen. What made you check under the keys?"
Sara: "... A, uh, butt-print on the credenza."
Wendy: ".... Yeah, okay that's gross."

Wendy: "Hey, Sara? Is it true that the miniature cases have been keeping Grissom up at night?"
Sara: "...How would I know?"
Wendy: "I just thought that maybe you all talked about it and... Hodges told me that Grissom confided in him and... y'know what, forget I even asked."
Sara: "Listen, I-I don't know what Hodges has been telling you, but do you think that--- Grissom would really confide in him? About anything?"
Wendy: "No, of course not."
^Sara's last line really got to me, because now that I've seen it again; it really seemed like she was worried that Grissom would possibly confide in Hodges and not her.

Hodges: "It's my Lucky Day."
Wendy: "What?"
Hodges: "It's my Lucky Day. (smiles)"
