Well, I'm over the end-of-vacation-depression syndrome. I'll post pictures when I can, my camera is choosing to be very tempermental right now...
I haven't heard of a lot of the songs, Pip, but there are a few that I absolutely love. I love all three Anna Nalick songs that you listed. Have you also heard "Breath (2AM)" by her? That's a good one too. "Forever love (Digame)" and "In My Head" are also good by her.
I've seen Step Up and know the song you're talking about. I hate rap too, but I agree- the violins make it sound good.
I like She Will Be Loved, too. And I LOVE Angel. That's a really good song.
While we're at it, I'll put some of mine that I've been listening a lot to lately.
Hallelujah, Rufus Wainwright
Somewhere Only We Know, Keane
Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol
The Scientist, Coldplay
Grace, Kate Havnevik
Flying High, Jem
Remember, Josh Groban (From the movie Troy)
Come What May, Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor (From Moulin Rouge)
One Day I'll Fly Away, Nicole Kidman (Also from Moulin Rouge)
Run, Snow Patrol

wow... honestly I have not heard of one of those songs either of you listed! I need to get out more. lol
But I have a question Arwen... you listed Come What May, Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor (From Moulin Rouge)
Ewan McGregor is the guy who playes Obiwan-Kenobie in star wars... is this the same guy or another guy by the same name because it would be a bit wierd trying to imagin Obiwan singing... lol

Lol- don't worry, most of those songs are a bit more obscure anyway. And yes, it's the one and same Ewan McGregor. It took a while to get one of my friends who loves Star Wars to believe it too. He has a wonderful voice.
Here, I'll post a clip of it.
Here's one from the actual movie, so you can see him singing. It will probably be really confusing as to what is going on, since it is in the middle of the movie. And it's not the full song, either.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ePkMoRHErA
And here's one where you can listen to the full song, if you want. I just felt like putting it on here since it is also with Aragorn and Arwen.

lol
That's just a bit strange! He does have a good voice. lol *shrugs*
Of course I dont' know him from anywhere except star wars so I am sure that makes it a bit more strange to me. lol
He isn't the same guy singing on the second one with Arwen adn Aragorn though is he? It doesn't sound liek him.

Yep, the very same. Weird isn't it?? I love the song though. And he is a great actor- I love him in both Moulin Rouge and Star Wars.
We have SNOW here. SNOW. I'm so disgusted. We have a pretty good chance of having no school tomorrow though. Oh, and I got some good news and some bad news- the bad news is that I'm not going on that trip to Equador that I told you about awhile back. Over 30 people applied, and they could only take 10. So they took all of the people who are going to be seniors next year, since it's their last chance. The good news, though, is that I got my letter confirming that I'm going to DC over the summer for that Leadership Conference. So I'm really excited about that.

Weird indeed! lol It's kind of funny though. *shrugs*
But yeah, he is a great actor.
Bumer. We had snow a while ago but it wasn't to cold so it wasn't that bad... but since then it has been cold and rainy.... grrr. *glares* strange weather this year. At least it's not snowing here anymore. lol
Aw, that's to bad. But that does make sense since it will be their last chance to let the other kids go.
And congrats on getting to go to DC i am sure that wil be exciting for you!

hey guys! sry havent been on in FOREVER!!! lol
yes, Breathe (2 a.m.) is a BEAUTIFUL song....unfortunately, that song was the song that i'd always listen to when i was crushing on that guy....(u know the line.... But my god, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles. Wanna hold him. Maybe I'll just sing about it... yea, so, i dont listen to that song much anymore, b/c, well....it just kinda brings up old memories from the (not too far away, but still nontheless) past...so i dont listen to it much anymore....nevertheless, it is still on my I-pod....lol I will say, though, my fav part, crushing on that guy, or not, is & always has been:
2 am, and I'm still awake, writing a song, If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer Inside of me, Threatening the life it belongs to.
Yea, I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd, Cause these words are my diary screaming out loud. And I know that you'll use them However you Want to
Always luvd that b/c....it's so....me. lol i LOVE Anna Nalick.....shes' SO talented, & her lyrics r so beautiful & deep & just.....wow. lol nvr heard the other 2 songs by her, that u mentioned....i'll ahfta look 'em up. lol
Same here-love step up, hate rap, luv it w/ violins. lol
She Will Be Loved....just luv that song in general...4 once, it doesnt have a deeper meaning! lol (songs usually do 4 me...hehe) i jsut like it! :]
Angel......words cant describe waht that song's done for me....i think i've told u guys i get anxiety attacks....it doesnt matter whether i'm nervous, or scared, or sad, or depressed, or upset, or pissed, or what....that song can ALWAYS calm me down. I have absolutely NO idea why. It just can. Always. No exceptions. so, yea....(like i said, always a deeper meaning...lol)
OMG, I LOVE Hallelujah! It's an AMAZING song!! it's SOOO pretty! i've laways luvd it, but most ppl have nvr heard of it....i 1st discovered it on the Shrek soundtrack (lol) & fell in luv. :] glad 2 know there's sum1 else out there who knows it! lol
somewhere only we know....i LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice! lol i've only heard this song a couple of times, but i luv it! :]
ACK! CHASING CARS!!! OMG!!! LOOOOOOOVE IT! i can't believe i didnt put it on MY list! lol that song is AMAZING!! lol even though it reminds me of the idiot (i just remembered taht was my nickname 4 him....lol) i still listen 2 it all the time b/c i luv it so much! lol :]
Remember....omg...wow....nvr heard taht one b4, but i looked it up on youtube....omg, it's beautiful! lol i LOVED it! :] thanks 4 showing it 2 me!
Come What May, luv that song too. it amazing! lol
u know, nvr heard anything else by snow patrol....i think i'll look that 1 up...lol

Ah. Point taken about "Breath (2AM)". I've had my share of songs like that. I hate it when you love a song, but it brings up too many bad memories to listen to anymore. The part you typed was always my favorite too, because I would do that ALL the time. It's just like me.
I know completely what you mean about finding depth in a song. I always have to listen to the lyrics of a song to find exactly what they mean to me, how they pertain to me, what I imagine them too, etc.
That's cool about Angel. I love that song- it's just so beautiful and soothing- I can see why it would have a calming effect. That's awesome that it always helps. Actually, "Into the West" from LotR seems to do that for me.
I can't believe that you've heard of Hallelujah!! That's so cool, since no one else I've talked to has ever heard of it. I love it- it's so beautiful, and the guy has a great voice.
Somewhere Only We Know is great- I love the guy's voice, as well as the lyrics.
Chasing Cars is one of my VERY favorite songs. I love it. That's so cool that you love it too. I first heard it on Grey's Anatomy during this really sad but extremely touching scene, and it's kind of become that show's "song".
I'm glad to hear you liked Remember. It's such a pretty song.
And I'd like to hear more of your "rambling". It's good to have someone with such similar taste in music!!!
EDIT: I'm sorry, I can't help myself. Here's the clip where they play "Chasing Cars" in Grey's Anatomy. I just felt like posting it. It's such a good scene though. Again, I couldn't help it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V8wS9i9j2s (It takes a few minutes before the song starts, by the way)

hey pip. it has been a while I was wondering wheree you were. lol
But yeah, rambling is fine... after al that's what this thread is for. lol
Well, not much to tell here except we got the recording for our CD finished. Now all that is left is the guy has to mix it and everything. He thinks he might get it done in about a week. so that has been a cool experience.
What have you guys been up too lately?

Well for me this is just another popping-in-to-say-hi visit. Nothing new. We have a half day tomorrow and no school Friday though, so I'm looking forward to that.

Wow. You do sound busy.
I think I remember you doing that before. How long will you be gone??
Well, as it turns out I'm having a massive sleepover with a big group of people on Saturday night, so I'm really looking forward to it.
