Folks! Please heed Larael's advice!
I appreciate the importance of Shy's dilema, but this is not the thread to discuss it. Please read the first paragraph of the first post. Only contributing and necessary posts about the WT and welcoming go here. Anything else is at our home thread in Your Life.
This thread is like a our conference room. It will only become cluttered if we post about other things than what I mentioned above. Then when Larael or I come to make an important announcement, people might miss it, that's the last thing we want.
I know I'm sounding harsh, but please, only post here if you feel that it is of importance to the Team. Thank you.
smeagollum: The first post mentions Buddies and newbies, how the system works and how they are picked. You can read up on it there.
JF: is this your official resignation? Let's talk this over through PM.
Again, does anyone know if FM was able to notify her newbies that she was leaving?

Totally, smeag, you can say more than just welcom-ish stuff. Engaging in conversation, or amusing them, is fine, as long as you are sure that they will understand you're joking and sarcasm. [As Thari said.  ]

@ JF: You've given up buddying? Just too busy I presume, aye? That's okay.  Thanks for being a guinea pig though. It really helped get the buddy system into motion.
@ Gil: How long have you given your buddy to respond? Sometimes it takes a while.
