Merry and Pippin felt amazed that some people actually recognized them from somewhere. Ruth Ann, on the other hand, now kept silent for she was not at Rohan when Merry and Pippin were there. Rather, Ruth Ann was traveling towards Gondor then, for contradictory reasons.

Merry and Pippin had already managad to grow bored of the preceding conversation and leaned over to Ruth Ann requesting that they leave and continue on.
"No," Ruth Ann whispered back, "You wanted to come. So, you are going to move at my pace not yours."

Cyril glanced over at the hobits. he gave a slight smile. It seemed like pippin wanted to move on. Quite frankly he was inclined to agree witht he little hobit. he wasn't used to following anything but his own pace.
