"Well, not take it....you can have it. It's not like you're going anywhere to take it. You'll be living here in this house for a long time, Edward," Lucy said with a sincere smile.
Gently hugging his arm, she said, "Don't worry. You're home now with family that loves you."
Handing the picture to his pale white hands, she asked, "Did you really love her, Edward? She loved you."

Katherine let out a sigh of relief when her neighbor left. She shook her head a bit and then walked into her house, quickly so she wouldn't be bothered by anyone else. She walked into the living room and then collapsed on the couch, somewhat sadly still. She wouldn't talk to Edward, because she knew that he would never forgive her. This brought tears to her eyes.

Edward's pale hands wanted to touch, and wanted to take to the picture. But they shook in fear and sadly moved themselves back to his sides. "Yes..." said the young man after many minutes of loving memories of his angel-Kim.

Lucy smiled and raised her eyebrows in happiness, "Really? Why did you love her?"
Grabbing Edward's hands, she helped place his fingers around the thin picture. Holding him still, she stared at his face as if it was a key to a mystery she had always wanted to know.
For you must remember, Lucy had only heard the story of a man with scissorhands, how he lived in Suberbia, how no one liked him, and how grandma Kim loved him dearly. Any other details were always never mentioned in grandma's bedtime story.

Katherine remained on the couch for some time. She had wondered why Timothy threw the tantrum earlier. She knew that he was always difficult to get across to, but not THAT difficult. She sighed deeply and started crying silently.

Edward's head sunk into his chest and his think lips spoke, "Because she loved me...."
Sadly though, the momente came to an end. You see, Edward's pale hands were useless. The fragile picture in his hands fell from his grasp and onto the wooden floor, shattering into pieces.

Lucy gasped and jumped back as the picture frame was broken near her feet. Standing still for a moment with her jaw open large, she tried to comprehend what had just happened.
Looking up slowly to Edward with eyes like saucers, she said, "Uh oh..." Immediately her eyes darted to her door in fear that her father or mother would have heard the crash.
Like lightning, she began to pick up the large pieces of glass and hide them in some of her dresser dwarwers. "Hurry, Edward! Kick the rest of the glass under my dresser! Hurry before my parents find out!" she said with gasping breaths. Her mother had always told her to be careful with the precious picture.
Grabbing the broken picture frame with the picture inside, Lucy hid it back under her bed.

Katherine stared at Lucy's bedroom door, when she heard the glass shatter, but for some reason she felt like she couldn't move. She just cried more and laid down on the couch, completely. She covered her face with her hands and curled into a ball.

Edward was frightened. He jumped back and crashed up against Lucy's dresser, knocking down other precious items of value. "I'm sorry!" cried Edward. Two sad eyes hoping not to be scolded.
"LUCY?! What the heck is happening in there?!" came the muffled shout of Timothy.

Lucy was jittery at the noises that now came from her dresser as Edward moved nervously about.
"Uh, nothing daddy!" she shouted back to her father. She then ran and shut her door in fear.
"Edward, just sit down on the bed. Sit down before you break anything else!" she said as she ran to her dresser and began to prop back up her special belongings.

Katherine heard Timothy yell at their daughter and just remained where she was. She kept her face covered and sighed deeply beneath her hands. She didn't know why she was feeling so down. But, Timothy wasn't making her feel any better. He usually never did.

Edward walked to the bed and immediately sat down. He didn't want to cause anymore trouble. His head sank to the floor and his body twitched.
"Lucy!" Timothy banged on the door, "I'm coming in!"

Gasping, Lucy shouted back, "Just a minute!" Her hands shook nervously as she contiued to fix the small collectibles on her dresser.
Finally fixing everything back in order, she sat on the bed with Edward panting, but then realized that Edward had never hid the rest of the broken glass underneath her dresser.
Looking to the door, she jumped up in a flash and began to scoot the glass underneath her bed.

Timothy came in. Angry, sweaty and with mean eyebrows. Unfortunately all the glass wasn't cleaned up. "Did he do this?!" Timothy demanded, pointing an ugly finger in Ed's direction. Although, Timothy's other hand held an empty can of beer.

Lucy stopped moving with the broken glass still surrounding her feet. Swallowing hard, she looked to Edward fearfully and hesitated.
Oh no....her father was drinking again..... Her hands played nervously with her white shirt as she said, "It was an accident. We didn't mean to do it. I'm sorry, daddy."
