Paloc stood up straighter as the king mistook him for the Captain. He cleared his throat, about to point out the real captain, but Aaron beat him to it.
The king said, "Deal." It took Paloc a moment to understand what it all meant. They would be freed from prison, their records wiped clean, and they would be on the seas again. A huge smile spread itself across his face.

((okay then... just ignore my last post... no bothering changing it if I'm posting again to say that I edited the last post or whatever...))

Aaron nodded. Though a promise wan't completely a promise unless there was a hand shake. So an idea came to him. He would reveal it to his crew later.
"Alright... I guess we'll leave when my ship's ready, and we've been payed."

The King then stood and said, "Now hold on." Katria raised her eyebrow and glanced at Aaron, wondering what he would say,

"If you go and leave this quest and go against your word, if you don't have the Crystals back in at leat 5 years time, I will send my entire fleet after you or retrieve your dead bodies if you fail." He glared and and then sighed, saying,

"You all may go into the extra living space upstairs for tonight and bathe and dress in whatever extra clothes are up there to your liking. I will get my men to fix up your ship and give you your things and you will set sail tomorrow morning." And with that said, the king turned and left.

"What was that?" demanded Phaerin furiously, whipping around to face Aaron, as soon as His Royal Highness had departed. "Off on some foolhardy mission to rescue some Crystals or other! Who's to say we won't meet the gallows when we return? How are we to know that King doesn't plan to take the Crystals and give us a hangman's noose in return?"

Stalking away to one of the floor-to-ceiling windows, Phaerin stared angrily out at the encircling darkness, punctuated by driving rain. He didn't trust even one of these nobles, much less the King.

Charolette stood quietly listening and thinking to herself. She did not dare say what she was thinking aloud. If we do get these crystals, she thought, we could pretty much demand anything we want. After all, the king is desperate enough to ask pirates to retrieve them for him.

Katria sighed and looked over at the captain and then at Phaerin.

"I'll try to go talk to him. We'll meet you guys up in the room." She walked over to the fuming Phaerin and waited to see what his reaction was to her being there.

Phaerin remained in stony silence. Rarely was it that his opinion was so disregarded, and being a good thirteen years older than their captain he felt as though his advice was rather more dependable. This was not particularly encouraging for Katria, but then that was not his intent. Who did this King think he was? To mercilessly hunt pirates for decades and then suddenly decide he needed their help! That wasn't worth a reward, however large.

The rain continued to beat down outside, a dismal picture of what Katraillio became without its Crystals. Again Phaerin mentally cursed the idiot who ever came up with this idea - Crystals! To support a country! Was he the only one who found that ridiculous?

Aaron watched the fuming Phearin with an emotionless face, yet his eyes seemed kind of shocked. He walked up to his first mate.
"Phearin, I had an idea... but you wouldn't let me tell you before you got all in a huff." he glanced around.
"I don't trust the open halls like these... I'll tell you all my plan when we get to the rooms... if you care to here it." he said, and walked out of the throne room...

Charolette let the throne room and walked right up to the room. She was going to get out of that place, and she did as qucikly as she was able to. Charolette had to walk through a little bit of the rain, but that was nothing compared to waht would have happened if she thought aloud in the throne room.

Aaron was up to the room quickly, not wanting to be stopped by guards. He spotted Charolette, and leaned on the door frame as he watched her a bit. After a moment he spoke.
"What were you doing on my ship?"

Charolette froze in shock for the captain coming in right behind her. She didn't know what to respond with. She didn't have a past because she couldn't remember it. She didn't have a future because she didn't believe she could have one. She would only wonder on and off of ships. This had happened so much, she hardly recalled the idea that they were actually different ships. She has absorbed herself into this other phenomeon of the mind in hopes to find something interesting about life.

"What do you mean?" Charolette turned around to acknowledge the captain, "I've been on this ship for years, Captain."

Charolette noticed the tension rise in the Captain's voice. "All right," she consented, "I will tell you what I know."

Charolette walked over and sat on top of the bed with a slight reluctance overtaking her. She had never admitted to this, but now she had to. "I was fourteen, I've been told," Charolette started with as much blunt honest as she could gather together, "when I got the fever. Supposedly my mother and father got it also, but I don't remember any of us having it. The last memory I have is when I woke up that morning. I got up out of bed and I saw a man and lady laying still on a bed. They wouldn't move, and I didn't know why. Many pepole came in. Half were in tears and the other half were yelling out: "Charolette! Charolette! You're alive, how can you possibly be alive?' It took them a few tries for me to realize they were speaking about me. Some of them looked in my eyes with amazement and started telling of all of these occurences he or she had with me. None that I was able to recall. That day was horrifing, and every moment after has repeated it. That day I lost everything except the knowledge of how to walk, eat, and sleep. I lost my friends. I lost my family. I lost who I was............. I immediately left that place and found my way onto a ship. It was a pirate ship, and they managed to tell me all about how to navigate, fight, and the like. Soon after they were taken by the king, I managed to escape and I have been running on and off of ships ever since."

Katria hoped she could get more out of Phaerin than she did, but she kinda suspected that she wouldn't get much out of him, considering she was only 17 and a girl, no less. (though she considered herself almost a woman)

Katria also finally decided to go up to the room after the Captain went over to talk with Phaerin, figuring he would get more luck. She look at all the fancy clothes and beds and furniture and sighed. "Hmph!" She snorted. "Give me a hamock in a ship's deck anyday."
