Miriya glided into the room and took her seat without pausing to talk. Everything was so -- wrong. She now struggled to move water in a puddle, a shocking discovery after her normal ability to move whole bodies of water. Her blue eyes darted around the room, trying to read the others' expressions.

Eydis shook her head. "No, I haven't," she said, "I have been out by the brook all morning trying to gain some information. My efforts were largely fruitless, but I suppose we'll talk about that when everyone gets here. The only other of us I saw was Luriar."

She then turned to where Luriar was sitting beside her. "Did you see anyone before I met you this morning?" Mentally, she counted up the dieties who were not yet at the table. Luckily only two were not present, Estelle and Gerard. Hopefully they would get there soon. Eydis was eager to start this talk.

"Estelle is talking with a human, i know him, he won't be any trouble." said Azra out f the shadows, starteling a few of the others, as he was harly ever seen and never spoke in thier company. He stepped forewrad in to the light at the center of the room. "The effects you have felt so far are only the small tremors before the earthquake." he apused, struggeling to find the words. "More than any of you i am physically connected to the Balance, it tells where and when someone is dyeing. However since the Balance is now broken i feel extream pain if i enter the Land of the Dead." he looked at each one in the eye. "I said broken, i should have said fractured. The balance is not compleately broken. I belive that is He broke the Balance then he would have brought the Dead back to life. This would mean that there was no rest for either the Living or the Dead and the boundires would be broken between the too realms."
"I hate to tell you this, but there is worse yet to come." With this pronouncement he returned to his place in the courner.

Kena was fingering her sandal, turning it over between her hands as if searching for answers. Her sandal, broken. The storm. Eydis' noticing strange thing among the birds and animals. Azra speaking of the Realm of the Dead. She knew what it all meant, had known before the question even arose.

"It's Asmundr, then." Her voice was loud in the troubled silence, and even naming Asmundr Kena felt the tension rise. "It has to be, who else could do this?" She replaced the sandal, knowing that fixing it had been a waste of time. She couldn't use them again, not while knowing the power that Asmundr seemed to have. Who knew what they would send her plummeting into next time? It wasn't safe, and Kena knew it.

"Thamkyou for that unknown gem of wisdom Goddess, would you care to illuminate us further by revealing what we should do?" he replied sarcastically, reavealing yet again why he didn't get on with the others.

"Nobody ever called me Goddess of Knowledge," snapped Kena, incensed. "Have we ever known what to do about Asmundr? Nay, we've wished we had, but we've never had the answers!"

She lapsed into silence. All Kena did was carry messages and discuss strategy, she could bestow a blessing here and there but she was no powerful goddess and certainly no wise one.

On a whim Kena extricated her compass from her satchel and opened it. The needle spun aimlessly, first north, then south, then somewhere between north and west. She clenched her teeth and closed the little wooden instrument. Her map was likely useless now as well.

"This is no time to turn against one another!" Eydis growled angrily, shooting Azra a murderous glare. She had never been the most easy-going goddess, and her fiery temper was showing through even more than usual this particular morning. In fact, some of the dieties might have said that she had been more irritable than usual lately. But she supposed she had some right. All this business with Asmundr was reason for someone to be on edge.

"What are you saying Brother?" said Azra to the one God he acctually respected. "That we will be forgotten, disappera into the mists of time?"

"As do I." Aranthor stated. She looked around. "We need everyone, we can not do this with just a few, we do not have enough power."

"But that doesn't mean we need to give up hope." Hythraii added, a flash of lightning also coming with his comment.

Sorry, I fell behind (just got back on a little while ago). I also made a slight change to my profile as I need to hurry up and catch up with all of you.
Curunìr wrote:
Nolgos listened to her words in shock and confusion, for a mortal who knew of the gods this all was shocking. So one betrayed the others for power? It seemed that not even the gods were as dedicated to their cause as he had thought or loyal to each others. The last words she said to him were not enough, he wasn`t just going to sit and wait as chaos might ensue. He wanted to take part, do something to prevent it, call it devotion to protect the weak and the innocent.

"Wait, you can`t just say that to me and leave! Go back to your village and tend to your patients? Is that your advice? Do you think I can only do that? I can do much more, I might be a mere human, but there must be something I can do to aid you. Just tell me and I will do it."

Nolgos demanded with a slightly angered voice, not caring whether she was a goddess or not. He was now convinced of it all, the appearance of the bandits, all the bloodshed and misery increasing, this was all due to what happened with the gods. He might be old and frail, but not clueless or weak.

Estelle nodded. "You possess great courage mortal. I respect that." She then turned to look in the direction of their home once more. "I now give you two choices, Nolgos. Choose wisely. Return to your village. Gather your best men and train them for battle. I shall then return to you anon. The second option I now grant you is to come with me. I shall take you to Aranthor the Goddess of War. Yet know this, should you come with me, there is a chance you may never return to your home. The gift to enter the earthly home of the gods has never been granted to a mortal."

"I think we all know what it is that we must do," Eydis said forcefully, "Of course we must rid the world of Asmundr's evil and in so doing, restore our former glory." She gestured elaborately as if to show how mighty they would be once again, but then she suddenly let the hand drop and gave all the other dieties a level look. "But how?"

That was the important question. Yes, there were ten of them and only one of Asmundr. Yes, they were all formidable in their areas. But could they defeat Asmundr. She feared that they had know idea of just how powerful the old god really was. They needed to find out.

"Blast where are Estelle and Gerard?!" she exclaimed suddenly as she slammed her palm down on the wooden table. All of them needed to be together.

---

(*Bella Swan* is my cousin in RL, and she has told me that she is grounded. I'm not sure when she'll be able to get online, so she has given me permission to powerplay Gerard)

Just then, the very god Eydis had been speaking of sauntered into the room. "Did someone say my name?" he asked wryly. His eyes flicked to Eydis, and he saw the dark scowl etched onto her features. She was glaring daggers right at him.

"Forgive me, O Great Goddess of Nature," he said with an exaggerated bow, "You called?" Eydis opened her mouth angrily, and Gerard suspected that he was about to get a tongue lashing, so he quickly threw up his hands and murmured that he was kidding.

He took his seat at the table, and almost instantly his mood changed from relaxed to solemn. When he first entered one might have never guessed that he was the God of Wisdom, but now his eyes were filled with knowing and intelligence. "Asmundr is on the move again, but I am sure you all know this."

---

This was good. Very good. Wavryni was in chaos. Pure chaos. And it was all because of him.

Asmundr was more than pleased with himself. He sat in a large velvet backed red chair at the front of a long room. A table also sat in the room, surrounded by ten chairs. But those chairs were empty now. That thought caused a smile to appear on Asmundr's thin lips.

The other dieties were gone, banished to live among the mortals of Wavryni. When he first banished them, he hadn't been able to strip them of all their powers, but he was slowly working on it. Using his dark magic and the abilities he had learned over the centuries, he was tapping into each of the other dieties' specific fields.

Once he had control over all the sources and power of Wavryni, he would be unstoppable. Already, easily corrupted mortals were flocking to him, hoping to earn favors and a high place when he finally ruled over all of the land. He barked a cruel laugh. There could be no other high positions when he ruled. He would be the one and only ruler.

Asmundr slowly swiped the area in front of him with his hand. The air slowly rippled and then became dark. Suddenly, he was viewing the 'meeting room' in the new dieties' shelter. All of them but Estelle were sitting there, bickering among themselves, searching for answers. He laughed again. They could know nothing. And they wouldn't anytime soon. Never, if all went as he planned. Before they could do anything about it, they would be bereft of all their former powers.

And he would have them all.
