I Don't mind it IF what you put in your sig for a while "
FORMERLY KNOWN AS VARDA UNDOMIEL,ELWING,LOTHWEN" Also if you can keep a name for at least a month.

Well that would defy the object of the masquerade Ball....as it's menant to be secret. But if you mean normally then yes, I suppose people should do so.

Yes, I do mean normally. All the same, I would like to find my friends. Getting lonely, ya know?

You know, I really like everyone starting to put "formerly known as so and so" in their signatures, I'm finally figuring out that all the people that I thought had left, really hadn't, they just had changed their names!! So Exciting! Very nice everyone, very nice!

I know that I change my name quite a bit. Since I came to AU, I've changed it... 3 times. But each time I've kept it for a few months.

...when I registered, it was as Teledhelion, but I changed it like a day later to Aerandir, which I plan on sticking with, unless there's a Masquerade ball again. Which I never understood the point of.

I tried to masquerade, but discovered that my sparkly stars and A-U Tolkien Scholarishness made it patently obvious who I was Anyway, I've always been Meldawen, and though lately I've been contemplating switching to just Melda, I don't intend to ever do a drastic switch. Heck, I FEEL like a Melda, I couldn't ever change it

...masquerade...paper face son parade...hide your face so the world will never find you.....
It was just like a masked ball. Like they used to have in European cities on New Years Eve etc. It was sp people could just change their names to something different, without having to worry about people saying "oh, you shouldn't have chnaged your name, it was so nice". And it was also meant to make people womder for 24 hours who was who. I still don't understand why people couldn't take the time to read what is was about, as it got a bit repeitive after a while of people wondering what was going on, even after we had told them. Hopefuly this year, people will know what it's about.

Well, I suppose you haven't changed to Ellie even if everyone calls you that No worries. But I really should make sure that Melda+wen isn't horrible Elvish grammar...

Hmmm I get really confused when people change their names and sig, and everything... and dinna write "formerly known as..." in their sig. Most people do that, which is nice (thankies TN ), but some people just... leave it. And then one day they'd randomly say "Hey Haldir, I havena seen you in ages, how are you?" And I'd say something like "I dinna believe we've met before... have we?" And it turns out tae be -example- my A-U daughter or something I think we should only be allowed tae change our names... but stick tae it for a certain amount of time before being allowed another change...
I joined the forum as "lothlorien.elf" but I became "Haldir o Lórien" two days later

Somewhere in this thread did we decide to put peoples' original names in their sig in tiny font?
I certainly didn't put Cadence Grace in there, and I certainly DON'T like it.
Besides, it might be the original, but not the one I kept longest. I probably kept Princess Kade of Narnia or Curran longest. Not Cadence Grace.

I don't think that has been decided since nobody else has that in their siggy. Either you did put Cadence Grace in your siggy but you forgot about it or somebody hacked into your account and did it. Just remove it from your siggy!
