gah, stuff like this really annoys me. NO MORE UNNECESSARY SEQUELS, PLEASE! i wish hollywood would show some originality - it's all sequels, remakes and adaptations at the moment.

Maybe a fourth if the third is good. But I would stop there. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing....
As for spider man. Toby M said he would do one more, then he wants to move on in his career. I don't have the exact quote though...

I'm still thinking: TV series after the third if they really want to do something...

Yeah but do TV series' gross £74 million in their first few epsiodes? No, they just get higher ratings. There's no way Pirates will ever be made into a TV series, and JD isn't a TV actor, so whether he would want to become an actor in a TV series based on films he was in, is another thing.
And thinking about it a TV series would be worse. 2 two and half hours Pirates films would probably equal a full TV series. So what's the difference? You'd still be having to buy the DVD of the series, for probably about $30 more than a film. Not to mention the commercials in between.

Yeah.. true. I was thinking more one with episodes, but a movie would probably be better.

Personally, I'd rather see another three movies than a TV series. TV almost seems to cheapen it, make it less of the fanatically exciting thing we fans find it to be. How would we all feel if LotR became a TV series? I don't know about you guys, but I would personally NOT be happy.
I'm up for another movie. Maybe not a whole trilogy, but I think they could pull off another movie. Maybe a prequel, if that's not too Star Wars-esque. I think I would even like it if there was no Orlando and no Keira, though they would make it better for me. I dunno, with the right people it has the potential to be a good movie.

Nah... I think leave it at three. It will wrap things up nicely, and after that I would be worried that the good story lines and quality would start to fade away. Don't get me wrong- I LOVE PotC, but I wouldn't be entirely happy if they just kept going for the money.

Don't get me wrong - if I have to choose, I choose stick with these three, but if they decide to do a fourth (maybe fifth, sixth) I won't be devastated, I'll be interested to see how it turns out. Just because generally sequels and sequel trilogies don't turn out well, who's to say they can't? Look at Toy Story and Toy Story 2, as an example. Or Shrek and Shrek 2 and Shrek 3. Those did well, and they were all sequels or...umm...triquels? Lol, I don't know what to call it. Anyway, I'm keeping an open mind here.

Trilogies, in my opinion, are best.

I wouldn't complain if there was a Pirates 7! So long as it's a Jerry Bruckheimer/Gore Verbinski collaboration with at least the core cast still there! I love Pirates of the Caribbean: could never get enough of it

^ I know, I sorta feel the same way, but at the very least they would need to have Ted and Terry and Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp. I'd like to have an Orlando in there too

tv series: bad idea
i mean, yeah, you'd still get to see all the original actors maybe but what would they do with the storyline? i think if the third one does good, which it should cause POTC is amazing, then maybe a 4th and a 5th would be good, if the story line is able to continue. but in my opinion, it all depends on the third.

Yup, yup definitely! I would even hate to see a Pirates 4 without Pintel, Ragetti or Gibbs!

I really would like them to stop after 3.
It would simply be the saddest thing in the world to see soemthing as great as Pirates be ruined and forced to die out..

I can't really say if I want another movie until I've seen AWE, but right now I think three is a good number.
Also, I remember hearing that Keira said she didn't want to do any more after this because "she was 18 at the start of the films and is now 22" or something like that. I don't remember all of the quote, but I know she said she didn't want any more PotC.
