Brendon stood carefully as she door slid open.
Shonnalen took one look at his face and quickly put an arm around him, then lead hi over to the stairs. "Shhh ... ok everything's fine. You're ok... I completely forgot about that." She gently stroaked his hair.

"Oh yes," Kira smiled at Bret with a touch of happiness over the changed subject, "Um... I really don't believe I have the qualifications to tell you about it. I have only watched a show on it a time ago, but Jake should be able to explain it better than me. However, I can show you them."

Kira lead Bret into the room with the lady in it who Jake was testing on. "Here they are," Kira said as she indicated all of the different types of fungi over towards one side of the room.

Bret bent over the fungi samples. Biology had been one of his favorite subjects in high school, and it still facinated him.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Kira directed him as she glanced back and forth between the fungi samples and Bret.

Ace stepped out of the lift, feeling very bad. She should have made sure everyone was out of the lift before she tried running it. With her jacktet over her shoulder, she quietly dissappeard into the darnkess of the shadows of the mall.

Trudy saw Ace go away. she followed her. " hey...Ace...you don't have to go...it's ok..." Trudy said hoping the girl wouldnt feel too bad.

Brendon opened his eyes and looked up at his sister. "How ya feeling?" She asked noteing that some of the color had returned to his face. He smiled and sat up. "I thought I was gonna pass out there for a while." He said as he looked around for Trudy and Ace.

Ace had climbed to an old area that had almost been destroyed. It had no stairs left, and was high up, but Ace was agile and loved to climb things. She now watched as Trudy wandered around, looking for her. She wanted to call out, but didn't really want to talk to people right now. She felt horrable that he'd almost passed out in the lift, and it was her fault. There'd been times she'd felt as he did, and would never wish that kind of fear on anyone for any reason. She could just see him and Shonnalen from where she was, and saw him get up. Good, he was ok. She shifted her weight and her perch creaked. So much for not being found. "I'm here Trudy.." Her vlice was soft, unlike the times before. No longer was there a guard over her voice, or a need to be tough.

Brendon started walking toward the abandoned part of the mall where all the shops had been gutted and the fraimwork showed. He saw Ace and Trudy and waved. "Hey Ace... Thanks for keeping me as calm as you managed to."
