It's the present year and chaos has started. The next stage of evolution has happened, outbursts of abnormal abilities from varied individuals dating back to the 70's have been recorded but these occurences were only made official to the public only recently.
These 'mutants' have been seen as dangerous beings in the sight of the public and often hide their specialities or go to one of the few sites which protect and work with mutants. One of these sites is the HYENA Initiative - a protective institute for mutants, abandonned or runaways - in need or are needed. These mutants are trained or taught about their powers and how to cope with them, sometimes even how they can use it to protect others or to lead the world's everlasting maturity.
There mutants aren't only endangered by Homo Sapiens but also other mutants, choosing the dark side - rebelling against humans and anything else standing in their way.

More about HYENA

The HYENA Initiative is mainly run by Raye Anderson (Cryomancer) alongside his childhood friend Takeshi Yuuyami (Dreamcatcher). Even though their status is one of the highest amongst HYENA, there are other skilled, older mutants which lead certain areas within the initiative - often showing better leadership or understanding.
The intiative is held in a large mansion in London, England and used to belong to the wealthy Anderson family until they were taken by severe illness and their son Raye took over. The mansion devoleped into a centre for lost mutants until eventually it became the intiative.
There are many dorms for the mutants, 'classrooms' for both average and abnormal lessons to help them learn about both regular and irregular facts about the world they live in and what it contains. There are several testing and training rooms for mutants to train in and a research lab to learn more about the mutant gene. The mansion also has vast acres of land for the mutants to roam in safely and the building occupies other typical rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Notes + Rules

1. Your character can either be part of HYENA, a lone mutant, a villian (there can be groups of villians if wanted, plotting what they want) or a Homo Sapien.

2. Three characters MAX - at least one of them has to be a mutant but all of them can be part of HYENA or a villian.

3. Your characters can switch from being part of HYENA to a lone mutant to a villian, etc.

4. Even though this RPG is largely based on X-Men, X-Men does not exist in this nor any other Marvel or comic characters. So feel free the base any of your characters on any X-Men character - or base them on anyone or anything really.

5. Nothing too graphic, please.

6. No-one's invincible, everyone has their imperfections and weaknesses - so please remember that with making your character.

7. Don't Power-mod in this RPG, don't severly hurt or kill a character without that person's permission - give them a choice, if they wanna die themselves - they can die XD

8. Two or even three characters CAN share one template if they are closely linked, but remember to vividly describe each one!

9. Roleplay nicely and enjoy yourselves ^_^

Takeshi can manipulate people's subconscious. He can project his image into people's dreams and mind even when he's conscious and also shows signs of limited telepathy and high intelligance.
Personality/ies: Raye can be energetic and hyper but can also act rather cold and morbid - he cares about the wellbeing of other people, he's also very strong-willed and determined.
Takeshi is less social than Raye and is often seen reading or working at his research, he may seem selfish and sadstic but when you get to know him, he can be warm and humble.
Short bio(s): Raye was part of a wealthy family but was often bed-stricken, his very cold temperature mistaken for a harmful illness. But at the age of 15 his parents caught a real life-threatening illness and eventually died. Soon after he discovered his true extent of his powers but they were safely hidden from the media with help of his family's friends and his past guardian. As heir of his family's mansion he devoleped it into the HYENA institute after learning of other people with similar problems with the use of his money and his intellectual friend - Takeshi.
Takeshi moved from Tokyo at the age of 9 after his parents and sister grew afraid of his intimidating ability. He was sent of London, taken under the Anderson family's wing and became close friends with Raye. After quickly mourning Mr and Mrs Anderson's death at the age of 14 he aided Raye with devoleping HYENA by researching and searching for other mutants.
Other notes: Raye often wears warm, winter clothing because of his cold temperature - even though he can withstand it , it makes him rather uncomfortable.

Power(s): Yumeko is telekinetic, her powerful telekinesis is often seen with a UV aura. Her vocals can also be used to reach harmful sounds - it can sound distorted and can even have duplicate vocals overlapping each other, which can manipulate someone's mental status - depending on their psychosis and how weak their will is.
Personality/ies: She can act unsocial and perhaps rebellious but she's considerate and loyal. She can seem dark and sadastic at times and warm and strong at another time.
Short bio(s): Was born in a middle-class family in the UK, her vocal ability was discovered at the age of 11 but it only appeared as a threat at the age of 15 when her house almost collapsed upon her and her family after she woke up screaming after a severe nightmare - this may of also triggered her telekinesis as well. Her parents not wanting to send her out on the street searched for one of the intiatives they had heard of and discovered HYENA - they contacted Raye and Takeshi brought her over, training her to use her powers and how to cope with them.
Other notes: Has brief knowledge of the martial arts and also has a crush on Takeshi.

Yumeko sat on the damp, metal chair as she impatiently glanced at the clock placed on the worn-out wall - 5 o'clock. It felt as if her circulation was about to be cut off with such tight bondages. Her pulse was growing rapid continusely and her breathing became sharp and bitter.
"Concentrate on the glass!", Takeshi snapped - tapping his foot in rhthym along with the clock's ticking.
"I can't! I need to... move my hand - URGH!", Yumeko grunted as she struggled to set her hands free. The transparent glass of water set before her on the table was still... lifeless. Dammit.
Takeshi stood up from his chair opposite her and knelt steadily before her, glaring into her eyes. Yumeko peered back at him - his dark mahogany eyes almost putting her into a trance. Was he trying to calm her once more? No... he just sympathised her for being such a hopeless, weak-minded girl.
Takeshi closed his eyes in an elegant manner and seemed to be hiding a crude smirk, "You're not hopeless," he sighed, "Just not goal-oriented enough."
Yumeko blinked, surprised at his sudden remark and then frowned in an unpleasing manner, "Stop attempting to read my mind! I'm afraid you'll hear some astray thought."
Takeshi grinned, "And what astray thought would that be, Yuki?". Yumeko turned her eyes away from him the moment he used her nickname and blushed, hoping he hadn't noticed. If only...
Suddenly they heard a sudden sound of something starting to crack - both of them turned their heads towards the glass. The glass had now openly cracked and the water dripped from the table amongst the razor-sharp pieces onto the floor - making it's way around Takeshi's feet.
"Good job," he sighed, "Though it was the water that you were meant to move."
Yumeko gave him a quick beaming smile and then changed her expression to something more apathetic. "Can you untie me now?"
"Sure. I need to check how everyone else is doing in the other rooms anyway, Raye's getting irritated with how I keep hiring this room for just you. I suppose he isn't aware of how powerful you can be."
"Would help if you'd let me move my hands...", she muttered under her breath.
"You have to be prepared for certain circumstances."

Picture: short, about 4’5, a bit pale, deep grey-blue eyes with a brown star in one, long black hair, usually tied to two thin messy braids on the back of her head, freckles

Status: HYENA
Power: When she’s angry, upset or afraid, she lets glass burst or she starts fire with her mind, but she’s unable to control her feelings to let these things happen, also she can’t control the fire she starts.
Personality: She’s scared of herself and her own power, doesn’t know how to handle it, very shy and nervous, she never got any support
Short bio: Her powers started when she got eight years old, but increased at the age of ten. Her parents never really noticed about her power and they didn’t care about her. On her sister’s seventh birthday a few days ago, she noticed that she had nobody, since everyone of the reatives ignored her like they knew that she was a bit...different and she started a huge fire in her sister’s room by accident, while her sister was in it. She barely survived, but Lyn was sent away by her parents, thrown out of the house because they where scared of her. She has now found the HYENA initiative she has heard about that it helps mutants controlling their powers in hope she could find somebody there to help her
Other notes: Although she can make it start, she developed a huge fear of all sorts of fire. She’s also scared of lightning and darkness

Raye strided through the corrider, passing many students on his way - some of them often messing around and acting childish. He half thought of scolding them but some of them were probably his age - he felt so pressured by his role here and... too mature. Too mature? Raye stopped moving for a while, hesitating. He pondered the thought.
Suddenly he spotted Lyn and he immediately turned around to face her, he had news for her. "Flame," he called to her, "Would you like to go in with Dreamcatcher for training? His session with Pierrot should of ended now."

Power(s): Mai can walk through walls and solid objects, and can also become invisible. There's a possibility she can walk on water, but she has only done this once and never in front of anyone. Often Mia will become invisible and she won't be aware of it, sometimes she finds it very difficult to become visible again, over the years her invisibility has become a subconcious protective mechanism.
Personality/ies: Mai is naturally rather shy, after years of being called 'weirdo' and the like, she's become introvert. She opens up to few people and is often wary of things and people she doesn't know. She's bright though, and capable of many things, she just doesn't believe it yet.
Short bio(s): Mai was in care for just about all of her life, when she started disappearing in her cot as a baby, her mother became hysterical and after a few months of it happening she handed her daughter over to social services. She was young herself, and couldn't cope with a disappearing baby. Mai travelled all over, going from home to home until no one would foster her and people definitely wouldn't adopt her. When she was fourteen she ran away from the home, unable to cope with the taunting and bitter words yelled at her by her peers. She ran and ran, didn't stop going from place to place until she fell asleep in a doorway one evening and woke up at the initiative.
