"No... you weren't... really...." She sat down beside Shonnalen. After a few minutes, she reached over and started to massage the brick tight muscles on her neck. "Relax. You're stressed out way too much and you've got a tension headach mixed with something else." She knew what that something else was, but wasn't about to bring it up.

I should have kept my mouth shut." She sank down beside Shonnalen, her eyes showing tiredness for once, a tiredness that had been well hidden before.

Shonnalen smiled and said, "Yeah it's pretty common knowledge that I'm almost 30... As for already showing signes of the ageing sickness... keep that to yourself please... I don't need anyone worrying when they don't have to."

"Yeah a bit ..." Shonnalen trailed off and closed her eyes. "You don't have to be scared or embarrassed to say whatever you want to say around me..." She stood and brushed off her jeans. "You want something to drink?" She asked.

"No... I'm alright... Shonnalen.... I'm... I might be..." She looked everywhere but at Shonnalen. She figited with her hair, then just blurted out. "My parents didn't die of the sickness, they were older then 30, both of them, they were killed by someone and I think I have whatever made them resistant to the sickness but I don't know. There... I said it!" She turned and fled across the roof, scared of what would happen next.

Shonnalen followed at a walk and finally caught up with her. "Thank you ... that is the best news I have heard in I can't tell you when ... If you want to be alone now I understand." She turned and walked back toward the door not expecting Ace to follow unless she wanted too.

Ace didn't know what to say. She walked to the edge of the roof and sat down, hanging her legs over the side. She heard some footsteps, but lost in her own thoughts, she didn't pay attention to them. Then she heard a familiar shuffle, and she bolted up. There he was, in the shadows... eyes black as death and hair to match, his cloak obscuring his features.
"So, you've told your little secret. Now you pay for it."
She saw a glint of metal, and didn't wait around to find out what would happen. She'd proven several times she was faster then he, and could do it again... she hoped...
She bolted into the building running down the stairs like a mad person. "EVERYBODY UP! We're under attack!" It was the only thing she could think of to say as she rushed to the gun store. She tripped on the stairs and tumbled down three flights before she finally stopped. Dizzy and disorientated, she struggled to look up the stairs. He was gone.

Shonnalen heard the shout and turned just in time to see Ace tumble down the stairs. "Oh my gosh are you alright?" She asked peering up the stairs. "What was it?" She asked.
