Pippin pulled his dagger out of one of the wolves that Merry simulatenously had killed and stared at the blood-ridden blade.

"Yuck," Merry said disgusted at the blood as he walked around the wolf and tried to keep his dagger hidden because of the embarrassment of its blood-stains. Continuing, Merry directed Pippin, "Pip, you have to clean that thing off or something. You can't go around with a dagger like that."

Pippin looked up at Merry and responded, "How about yours? You took a deep root in the wolf yourself."

"Mine?" Merry asked sarcastically.

"Yes, yours," Ruth Ann blurted in as she took the dagger out of Merry's hands and held it up for all of the world to see. Looking at the disgusted faces of Merry and Pippin, Ruth Ann sighed and took Pippin's dagger mocking, "This is what to you for coming along." Ruth Ann smiled and continued to mockery by imitating Merry's voice, "But, Ruth Ann, we decided to come along with you. Weren't you paying attention?"

"Fine," Merry said with an annoyed tone and grabbing his dagger, "I'll take it."

"Pip?" Ruth Ann tempted Pippin to take his dagger slso by waving it in front of his face.

"Alright," Pippin said as he, in turn, also took his dagger.

"Good," Ruth Ann smiled and said, "the first lesson in ranger-hood: always keep your weapons clean."

Lughir wiped his sword off with the end of his cloak, and sheathed it, still on his steed.
"Would you Shire folk stop squabbling so we can get on our way?" he asked, though didn't wait for an answer and urged his horse on at a walk...

"I agree completely," Ruth Ann commented as she shoved Merry and Pippin into a decent walking pace.

Pippin jutted out a humble comment, "Where are we going?" to only be cut off by Merry's hand over his mouth.

"I don't believe," Merry persuaded, "That now would be the best time for that."

"But.." Pippin asked, "If we don't know.."

Injected, the annoyed Ruth Ann Underhill pinpointed both Merry and Pippin with her words of "We are hunting orcs and a new found threat. After the last few times of metioning the same thing over and over again, I would think that you would be well aware of our new-found quest."

Ruth Ann glared at both of the speechless hobbits in turn.

"I thought you said that you wanted another adventure," Ruth Ann questioned them, "like the last one wasn't enough."

"In the last adventure we nearly got killed by goblins, orcs, walking trees...." Pippin slammed back at Ruth Ann.

"Well," Ruth Ann contiplated sarcastically, "You should have throught of that before you decided to come along on this excursion."

Arey listened to the hobbits argue back and forth, slightly amused.

"But, of course," Ruth Ann continued her moment of sarcasism, "The amount of you thinking is highly suspect at times."

"Come again," Pippin tried to slurve away from what Ruth Ann truly meant by the remark.

"For example," Ruth Ann told, "you gave away the presence of the fellowship in Moria, you looked into the Palantir when you weren't supposed to, and you decided to come along with me."

Merry stood next to Pippin giggling from the continuation of Pippin's humiliation. "I did do some of those things," Pippin admitted.

"Some?" Merry finally blurted out, "You kind of almost got us killed..."

"That would be true," Ruth Ann laughed, "So, that would just mean that I would have to keep a closer eye on one of you."

Pippin grunted under his breath trying to find a way out of the conversation. However, when he saw no logical transition out of his pure humiliation, Pippin walked silently alongside Merry.

"Don't worry Pip," Ruth Ann comforted him, "Merry's going to get what's coming to him pretty soon also."

"Did almost get us killed?" Pippin inquired hopelessly.

"No..but I'm sure he will do something," Ruth Ann smiled back, "I mean he hangs out with you quite a lot. Like peas in a pod you two are. What one has, the other is sure to acquire."

Pippin nodded acting like he understood what Ruth Ann was saying and then looked over at Merry to get some true comfort. Merry, seeing Pippin's glance, shook his head slowly and told Pippin, "I don't get it either."

((hey Smeag... reading the books, Merry and Pippin are alot more responsible than you're making them out to be... and after the War of the Ring I would expect them to be more humble and not afraid of danger... don't you think? Sorry, I had to voice my opinion...))

Lughir shook his head at the hobbits, and moved on, partly ignoring their talk. He had other things on his mind, like the object he was searching for. He knew it was in one of the mountians... but which one? It frustrated him to no end. Eventually he would find it...
