Ok, I've found this movie about the Golden Compass.

It looks pretty good so far. I really like Eva Green as Serafina. She looks really pretty in it.

Oh, yay. I can't wait to see it. It seems like they're doing a good job. I'll be anxious to see how they keep it up. :)

^ I agree about Harry Potter... I can't stand to watch the later ones. They're good, but too far from the book in my taste.

Anyway, back on topic, this one looked really good. The CGI daemons and Irok Byrnison were well done. Does anyone know whether they're going to do The Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass too?

I saw a trailer for it when i saw AWE. And it looks alright, the Polar Bears are a little concerning. But the cityscape and the blimp thingies look really nice.

OH MY GOD.

I just about passed out when the trailer came on last night before AWE. I loved it. Every second.

Pants(Lyra's Dameon(because i'm too lazy to spell his entire name)) Was so cute!! And Lee Scoresby is really great, the actor was in Ghost Rider, and it looks like he'll give a convinicing performannce.

I'm not so sure about this one... I have a feeling it won't do the books justice

^I think, from the trailer, that it will be comparable to how well the first Narnia book was adapted to the screen. Quite good, but diehard fans will be slightly disappointed.

I agree. I liked how they do his transformation, it's quite convincing. Oh yes. Sam Elliot is amazing.

Yeah, I'm quite excited for this one to come out. But I'll like to see another trailer. There's rumour that they have filmed an extra scene that isn't part of the book but it has Pullman's approval. I think that scene is an action scene with Craig but not sure.

^That's be interesting...

So for the trailer, New Line is doing it, and they started by saying "In 2001, New Line Cinema brought you the Lord of the Rings. " And there was a falling Ring. I freaked out, thinking they were making the Hobbit or something. Then it turned into a compass, and i sort of stopped watching...

Daniel Craig and Eva Green in another movie together?

*rofl*

Anyways, I thought the book was kinda odd....not bad...just odd.
:/

But nevertheless, I might go see the movie just because.

At first I got all excited because the One Ring was shown at the beginning of the preview. But then it turned into a compass and I was still excited.

I never did read any of the other books in the series except the Golden Compass, which I read and loved ages ago.

I think it looks good in some aspects and not do good in others. Some of the casting is dead on and some it is like... huh? And the computer effects look slightly lacking. But overall I'm pretty excited, and I really want to go see it when it comes out.

Ooh, I'm quite looking forward to this film. I actually started reading it last night and I'm hoping to get the other two read before it comes out as well.

As I'm reading it, I can't help but think of Daniel Craid () as Lord Astriel, I think he's perfect for the part.

Awww JF! You and your spelling errors are so adorable!! *squee*

I'm getting excited, slightly worried, actually, very worried. I just re-read the first two books, and yeah. Hopefully they didn't screw it up too much.

:duh: Poor Mr. Craig. How will he ever forgive me.

I've almost fininshed the first book now... and I saw the trailer today... hmm... I'm a bit worried as well. The book is quite complicated (I've now read the explanation of Dust :swoon:) and there are some parts of it, that are no way going to be as graphic in the film (the bear fight for example).

And what's with Pan's voice sounding like a 10 year old? I imagine him speaking in a adult voice.
