Okay.....starting post
~~~~~~~~~
The night's cold chill swept through the land of Kanum. The forests where silenced as the first spring's rain came falling down from the skies. A cold chill of evil swept through the small town of Highle, a town where 7 Ringbearer's lived. As the evil chill came through their town, one Ringbearer awoke with a start from her slumber. She gasped for breath and looked up at the skies; the seven stars where alined perfectly. She gasped again, but this time not for breath, but from fear.
She jumped out of bed and dressed quickly. She wore a pair of black breeches and a black undershirt. Then, over them, she wore a red warriors shirt with a red tunic that had Elvish designs on the front and down the sides of it. She laced up her black boots as she her dark black braided hair got into her dark blue eyes. She swiftly armed herself with the weapons that she was trained to use well; She, personally, carried a bow and arrows, two daggers (one wrist dagger and one ankle dagger), an throwing axe, and two curved long swords.
Finally, she looked at herself in the mirror and whispered, "The day has come." She bent down and took a key out of her pocket and unlocked a small, wooden box. Inside the box was her life's most prized possesion. Her Ring of Element. She was the Bearer of Flame for the Light side, an Elven Warrior sworn to protects the rights of men and Elves until death took her. She picked up the ring, which hung on a necklace and slipped it under her shirt. Glancing at the stars one more time, she left her home.
Turwaithiel, as the Elf was known, ran to the stables and mounted her white mare, Tathar. She knew that the banishment of the Demom's was no more. They where coming again. She had to meet up with all the other Ringbearers at the Round Table in the middle of the Forest. She had not spoken with any of them for many years. Now, they would have to unite as one to face the evil that had come again, stronger this time, and face it. As the rain soaked her clothes and mud splashed into her face, Turwaithiel rode hard into the forest until she came to the small cabin with unlit lights hanging all around it. It was the Light Ringbearer's meeting ground. She unmounted Tathar and put him in the stables, then she ran inside.
Since she was the Bearer of Flame, she was heat to dry herself and light all the lights that where surrounding the cabin. She smiled at the sight of the Round Table. There where 8 chairs. 7 for the newest Ringbearer's, including herself, and one for the only Old Ringbearer to still be living. He would tell that what was to be done tonight. She found the horn hanging on the side of the wall and she took off and blowed. It was silence to all mortal ears; the sound could only be heard the the Bearers of the Rings of Element. After she blew on the horn for a moment, she stopped and awaited her compainions arrival. It was to be a long night.
Unknown to the Bearer of Fire, someone was watching, someone who the elf wouldn't have wanted to be watching. The someone chuckled to themself, invisible to even a bearer's eye. The someone stood in the cottage for a moment, watching the elf, before slipping out the door, and into the night.
Once the invisble person made it to the cover of the trees, it became visible. The figure was slender, and femanine. A blue dress in which the fabrick seemed to be made of spider web, fraimed the body, just touching the ground at the ripped and weathered end. The long, wide sleeves opened to gnarled hands with long sharp nails painted red with blood. The v-lind neck let a ring on a chain be shown. The ring of air. The face was beautiful, yet menicing at the same time, with hypnotizing grey eyes, chizzled features, full blue lips, and pointed teeth. The figure's face was half covered by grey hair in which the ends looked like mist, floating about her. And all about her pail skin were tattoos. Tattoos of dragons, birds, swords with blood, deamons torturing human covered in their own, and other's blood.
Amarith, as the deamon's name was, slinkered through the woods as smoothly as a breaze over a hilltop. She came to a secret gale, hidden by thorny vines covering the trees. Once within the gale, she looked upon what was there. Seven circles, each made by a different element. One by rocks, one by fire, one by light, one by water, one by smoke, one by a shadow, and the last one by the little spirits of pixies.
Amarith stepped inside the circle made by smoke, and looked around.
"Brethren, we are free from that acursed place. I say tonight is the perfect night for revenge... and death. I call us together to plot a way to take down our enemy and cast our shadow on the world... we won't fail this time... not this time..." she spoke, her voice high as chimes, but rough as gravel...
A figure appeared, rose from the ground to be exact to the circle of rocks and a wide smirk rose on his tattooed face. Garland stretched his tattoo covered hands and snapped his fingers. Many of his tattoos consisted of root like formations and some animals amongst them. In his right hand index finger was a wooden ring, but it was all black and twisted to represent it`s carriers soul.
"Aye free at last! About time I once more wreak havoc upon the earth itself not to mention those that dare to oppose us... this forest around us for instance is the perfect place to start.."
He said with an evil grin as he gazed at the tree`s around the gale, soon they would be twisted just for the sake of his pleasure and no longer could they grow free. They would become his slaves, they would bleed and the earth itself would suffer wherever he would tread. The ground beneath his feet would turn to ash and sands, nothing would grow upon it and desolation would follow in his footsteps.
Rhalen rode through the forest, the sound of the horn echoing in his ears. <i>Just a bit farther, Cahal.</i> he urged his stallion. Tree branches reached out towards the man, almost as if they sensed the presence of the ring about his neck- the Ring of Earth.
After a few more moments of riding, Cahal galloped into the clearing and trampled to a stop. Rhalen dismounted and led his horse into the stables. Cahal's ears pricked forward and he whickered softly, greeting Tathar. Rhalen unsaddled and brushed down his horse, then gave him food and water. <i>I'll be back soon.</i> he said to him, then strode out of the stable.
Swinging the cabin door open wide, he saw one of the Keepers was already there. "Turwaithiel, how are you?" he closed the door behind him and sat down.
Threng mounted Storm, his dappled grey mare. He urged her into a canter, then a gallope. The sound of the horn rang clearly in his ears: he never thought this day would come. He thought he would grow old and pass on his ring. He thought that the evil would not come during his time. He was wrong.
He arrived at the house to find Rhalen and Tur already there. He quickly untacked Storm and gave her a brief pat, then ran to catch up with the others.
Elarinya quickly arose as she heard the call. So the hour was neigh, the one she had dreaded and prepared for all these years. Rising from her bed, she quickly changed into a form-fitting but light tunic before brushing back her long dark hair. Armoring herself with her usual weapons, she then Strapped on her boots before silently made her way around her room. Walking over to the dresser, she reverently removed the diamond star-shaped ring. The Ring of Light. she thought quietly as she gently ran her fingers around the silver band-its brilliance glowed in the gathering shadows. Slipping it on a chain she quickly put it around her neck, hiding the ring from view beneath her tunic. Fastening her cloak about her, she glanced around the room one last time as she bid a silent farewell to her family and closed the door behind her. Racing out to the barn, her mare nickered in greeting as she approached. "Come, Turtegiel. We must hurry." she replied as she stroke the mare's nose gently. With that she mounted her friend and quickly urged her to the meeting ground.
Upon arriving she saw that several of the other bearers had already gathered. Leading her mare to the stables, she settled her friend in before joining the others.
<center>"Dark night the wind blows,
Blood boils and over flows,
Dark is the hour,
Set free the soals,
Of devils and deamons.
Never again, shall we be caught,
Amungst the frost of light.
Soals set free,
Dark deeds done,
Never shall they see the light."</center>
The song echoed around the glade of the evil ring bearer's. A form grew from the water of the circle, then became solid into the shape of a man with long black hair in a pony tail, menacing face, black cloths so you couldn't see the figure clearly.
"Set free the soals, of devils and daemons." the figure, Pendragon, repeated, his voice deep and menicing...
[question... there have only been two generations of Chosen in two thousand years, which means the Chosen have longer lives?]
Name-Tlenes
Played by-LDM
Age-26
Race-human
Gender-male
Element/Ring-Ring of Shadow
Apperance-long, unkempt black hair streaked with premature gray; dark eyes; black cloak
Personaility-one begins to question his sanity and his loyalty
Weapons-two scimitars; poisoned throwing knives
History-Once the son of a noble lord. Something corrupted him, and now his worthiness to bear the Ring is questioned. But his hatred for the Demons is genuine, as is his lust for vengeance.
Special Abilities (beside element-limit to three)-shadow jump (phases in and out from alternate planes)
-----
Where are the Chosen now?
The axe swung like a pendulum above his head, its serrated edge gleaming wickedly in the torchlight. Bound horizontally to the basalt slab, he could only sweat and watch in horror as it inched lower with every swing.
The genderless voice, consummate in iniquity, echoed around the empty chamber yet again. The Demons rise again from the netherplane. And you, Tlenes, will be the first to fall.
He bit down hard on his tongue, not even registering the blood filling his mouth. The pendulum, fully lowered now, sliced through cloth and flesh, penetrating his ribcage and offering exquisite pain... Dimly he heard someone screaming...
It struck him then how uncannily the basalt slab resembled an altar...
Tlenes woke gasping for breath, the echoes of a distant horn call still lingering in his ears. He sat up in the darkness and found his hand clenched around something he'd vowed never to touch until the time came.
An obsidian ring. His fist closed over it. The time had come.
Galvanized to action, he dropped the Ring of Shadow into his pocket and grabbed his black cloak from where it hung on his bedpost. No tears, no farewells. The one-roomed shack he called home was his alone. He found his gray mare tethered outside. He saddled and bridled her, before mounting and kicking her into a full gallop through the forest.
The chilling rain whipped against his face. Bending low over the horse's neck, Tlenes closed his eyes and was immediately assaulted by the image of the pendent axe. The familiar fear deluged him. That event was in the past, damn it! He couldn't let it faze him now!
Fear was sweet. Vengeance was sweeter.
He reached the remote cabin and stabled his horse. Thoroughly drenched, he trudged over to the door. He had not seen or heard from his fellow bearers in years. With a snarl he pushed the door open. What did he care what they thought of him?
He nodded almost mockingly at his peers as he entered. Turwaithiel the Flame Bearer had fired up the hearth, he noted. Dripping rainwater across the floor, he plopped down on a bench and proceeded to dry himself.
((aye, we have longer lifes.....))
Turwaithiel greeted the rest of the bearers that came in. "It's good to see you all again!" She said, smiling.
Elarinya nodded in Turwaithiel's direction as she removed her hood and took a seat. "It's nice to see you as well." she replied with a smile. "Though I had hoped that this day would never come to pass." she said quietly, musing on awakening of the demons.
Turwaithiel nodded, her smile turning into a smirk. "Aye, I think we were all dreading this day. Soon, the green lands will be stained red and the lifes of many will be taken." Turwaithiel shook her head, sighing. "And there is only One Old Ringbearer left for the Light side still alive. He will meet with us soon, I take it."
